Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

Comparing progress this week in Obamumbo with last week, it looks roughly halved difficulty for that system - though once some of the others get going a better estimate might be possible.
I hope that's true cause after the holidays it might get harder with people going back to work and not having as much time. Im running critically wounded in my ax cutter from the burning station till we get er done.

That reminds me, I did not get around to doing the totals! At close enough to the end of Week 3, we had:
  • 140% total Alert
  • 1124% total Invasion
  • 4% total Controlled
  • 24% total Recovery
I know that Recovery is proving not to require planning and that I have stopped listing it alongside states which do, though for the purpose of comparing totals I imagine it might be as well to watch it—if I remember not to include the automatic 100% at Muruidooges!

Those numbers are intended to be stowed away for now and recalled later for comparison with Week 4.

Anyone know if picking up evacuees in passenger missions vs critically wounded in escape pods is better? Been doing the wounded ones because I can carry more and stack 20 of those missions per run but if swapping out to passenger cabin missions is better for the bar I'll do it. Ty for any info

Edit looking back to page 1 looks like Cmdr Aleks says evacuating critically wounded has a strong effect so will keep doing that. Never did any of this before when I was on ps4 so still learning.

Thank PDES for that information! More generally:
  • Untouched starports will have evacuate "injured" personnel; following the pattern and quantity, normal passengers are likely better.
  • Attacked starports will have evacuate "wounded", which I understand PDES has tested as being equivalent to passengers.
  • Damaged starports will have evacuate "critically wounded", which are better than passengers.
Inactive starports have no docking, of course.

K I've only been grabbing ones in escape pods so far but looked at the passenger ones earlier and saw a red symbol on them that wasn't on the pod type missions. Got freaked out for a sec thinking I've just been doing nothing but thankfully you had that info for us on page one. I've been grabbing only critically wounded from Yegorov Gateway and filling my cutter up with 3 to 500 each run or whatever 20 missions comes to.

Just left the rescue ship apparently people are having issues turning in passenger missions. Must be tied to cabin type missions cause I turned in 20 pod type ones np. People sound pretty frustrated in system chat hopefully whatever it is gets fixed otherwise I suggest sticking to escape pod missions. They cant empty their holds or doing anything till it's fixed I had a similar issue years back running passenger stuff in Robigo.

The mission board is very ON and OFF right now so there's the risk that you could be unable to turn-in missions that you have accepted and transported to their destination.
In some cases I have had the board return upon relogging but more commonly that didn't work. A lot of CMDRs aren't happy because it affects everything from helping in this war to accomplishing regular BGS activities and because things are mighty quiet from you-know-who regarding a fix. In the case of transporting passengers or wounded (both 'cargoes' we'd be unhappy to just dump), we might literally be stuck waiting for the mission boards to come back up unless we chose to go into combat with them aboard.

I don't think that this problem affects everyone at the same time. I have heard CMDRs say mission boards are down while I wasn't having a problem. More mystery...

I had a similar thing happen in years past with robigo Sirius runs strangely around the same time of year kinda like a holiday bug or something. Might not hear back from them any time soon cause the holidays. I've been there several times when people say its messing up and never once had it give me trouble. Strange situation when I was a ps4 cmdr I was always the one that got the random bugs.

There's 6 populated alert systems this week;
70 Tauri
Hip 21380
Pegasi Sector MN-S B4-5
Hip 113535
Patollu
Hip 18075

The alerts seem concentrated at the lower Maelstroms with the upper Maelstroms seemingly uninterested in expansion at this time.

Great to see those top progress systems from last cycle being targeted this cycle! Obamumbo (66%) is doing very well, and we have HIP 20527 (30%) and HIP 29596 (24%) to follow. Recapture of HR 1737 (4%) stopped abruptly and I see no Alert progress thus far; it seems to me that Invasion is really the state which has multiple activities to bring everybody together.

It is fine if Alert systems pass through to Invasion if that helps with involvement, though unfortunately anything reaching Controlled is stuck there until many more Commanders are equipped at least to massacre Scouts. A bit of armour and the turreted Enhanced AX Multi-cannons can go quite far, and those are already appearing on some evacuation starships, but eventually we will need dozens of such to descend upon Controlled systems.

Top targets at 11:30 23rd December 3308
Obamumbo Invasion + 0 ports – 66%
HIP 20527 Invasion + 5 ports – 30%
HIP 29596 Invasion + 5 ports – 24%
Liu Huang Invasion + 0 ports – 10%
HIP 8525 Invasion + 1 port – 10%

Just as I was updating things! The strange thing for me about many of these Alerts, including the unpopulated ones, is that they are mostly moving away from the core systems.

Sorry to hear that. ☹️ o7

Tbh, I only ever do these in Solo, for this very reason.
Ive gone completely the opposite direction and had great fun, couple of chumps killed me first couple of times in open so stuck with solo and all was fine. Since this war started I went to open just to try it again, been blown up by a couple of commanders, the same one twice, baaah, chumpety chump chump, fair play its open I lost a little chump change to chumps. To me everything feels better in open, seeing many commanders, the chatter, ganging up on an Interceptor, just seeing it all come together........shoulda done it sooner!
Credits are so easy to come by that the little inconvenience of losing a ship occasionally is outweighed heavily by just being there.

FYI Kasper, we`ll meet again ;)

I wish I could but the the level of toxicity in Ed's ganker crowd is too much I'd just rather not deal with it at all while doing this stuff. If your fighting goids you have ax gear and if your evacuating your optionals are full of cargo bays or cabins. It's not a fair situation to pvp in you cant equip a ship and reliably do both in this kind of situation with any proficiency. Murderhobos classically seek out cmdrs in these kind of situations or who otherwise cant defend themselves it got so bad fdev had to restrict beginner space. Most pvp games have leaderboards or loot you take from kills but these guys are literally just out to troll people and this war proves that point.

Not telling people what to do though play whatever mode you want but I dont see a reason to play their reindeer games or contribute to their gaming content while attempting to fight this war. I've been in squads that basically order their members to stay in open and that kind of mentality should be shelved for now. I haven't been in open a single time in months and having a blast myself.

I get the point. All I would say is if you fancy trying combat give one of the popular systems a go in open. In solo your the sole target of the thargoids, in open the pain is shared amongst all the cmdrs.

Won’t help you get home but will help rack up goid kills.

I'm triple elite and fought goids and did pvp in open back when I was on ps4 just been doing war stuff since migrating to PC. I have some new cold orbiters built with salvation shards and plasma guns I want to try out may well do that but for the majority of war operations I'll stick to solo. Been more focused on trying to move critically wounded and help move the bar the most and win as many systems as we can peoples homes are at stake.

Evac ships should be in solo due to the docking issues at the megaship.
AXI have their own anti-gank squads and of course there's blocking and PGs.
I've been cargo hauling for the most part, I haven't seen any gankers myself though that may be due to the fact that cargo comes from a variety of sources and the ports are themselves frequently AXCZs.

Sounds like solid advice and if you can find a squad to run with who has pvp interceptors in it that's a whole nother story most independent cmdrs cant count on it all the time though. On a unrelated note Obamumbo looks on track to complete later today great work cmdrs. o7

Not true, I am always Solo and am really enjoying this.
In Solo I'm only going for Scouts and when the Interceptors turn up (I have tried - and lost 4 or 5 ships to them), I scarper into SC and either go to another CZ or come back to start on Scouts again. There are always many NPC's and I join them in the fight so that I am not the only target.
When All Limpets are used up (I take only about 20 so as to not get bored just doing Combat) I dock and do an Evac. Wounded in pods run and then maybe a CG cargo haul to ensure the new weapons keep on coming on line (got to support the engineering bods just as in RL wars - like Barnes Wallis with his bouncing bomb).

It is Brilliant - I never feel pressured into grinding - I can focus on 1 play style, or do many in a session- well done FDev (you don't hear that much in the Forums, do you?)

EDIT - BTW tried Alert system and no good - I only do Invasion systems now.

I’m struggling with the CZs give me a cyclops or even the Basilisk solo and I can fight and win. But when there are two and it’s just you they focus on I find it too much. I am trying to work in and engage the AI around me but when I get into difficulty and boost away the Interceptors and swarms follow but the Npc don’t.

Just turned in 400 critically wounded and checked the map Obamumbo has been won congrats folks...at least it said control prevented then switched back to just being a full bar who knows lol. I'll run more missions I guess
