Mine had two weeks at point of Live/Legacy separation, yet still appear to be at the location if I look at the galaxy map. This may be due to not returning to that system since but nethertheless they still appear for me.
Steam regularly gets discounted prices, but that seldom happens on the fdev store. You can then launch the game either from the standalone launcher or from Steam:Hi there,
After transferring my account to PC, what is the best way to upgrade to Odyssey? Do I buy it in the Frontier Store via my Frontier account and then it will be available for download in the launcher?
And the alternative via Steam would be to transfer it to Steam and then buy Odyssey there?
Thanks!
I suggest you just buy it from the Frontier store. Steam has some extremely frustrating issues that occasionally pop up.Hi there,

5.-is there any chance they would retake console development in the future? Any hint from the developers?
I appreciate that this is not what you asked, but in addition to the advice above, I would like to add that the account porting process itself was as smooth as silk. I was worried that I would either muck it up or that it would glitch and I would lose my billions, but I have to say it was a breeze. I bought a gaming laptop, sold my Carrier, pinged an email to FD and started the process and it worked smoothly first time. I rebought my Carrier on PC but have actually never fired up my old console account since. But engineer progress, ships, bank balance (including the Carrier refund) etc was all there waiting for me on PC. Seamless & meant I just had to rejoin my old squadron and away you go.Thank you all for your time and explanations, especially Ian, it was very helpful. Best regards
1) These days yes it would be best to sell the carrier first. When this was done originally I kept the carrier and used it to transfer credits between the accounts. That's no longer possible since the Live/Legacy split.Hi, some questions :
1.- do I still get rid of my carrier to transfer from my PS4 account to PC?
2.- if I have an account under the same mail on steam, could I transfer to that account?
3.-I have the game and dlc pass, full upgrade game on PS4. Would that content that I bought transfer to the new account in PC?
4.-What would happen to my account on PS4 after I transfer the game? Disappear?erase?
5.-is there any chance they would retake console development in the future? Any hint from the developers?
I tried to read the 7 pages of the post but it get confused sometimes.
Thank you in advance and sorry to bother. Best regards
No, one copy per account.1. Can I copy my PS account to both Steam accounts if I clear them first?
Also no - you can only do it once. So if you don't have the PC yet, you may as well wait a bit first.2. As I don't have a powerful enough PC to play on the newly cleared account, can I portal-copy today, play for another 6 months on PlayStation, then copy over again when I eventually buy a PC powerful enough to use (eg when I get a third Elite status). Has anyone tried to portal-copy more than once?
Not sure on this one. It seems like you should be able to keep it - if you reset an account outside the transfer process, the new CMDR you create on it still has previously-bought cosmetics - but I'm not 100% sure that the process of copying your cosmetic rights from your console account wouldn't interfere with that. Something to ask Support about.3. There are some lovely new ships you can buy direct from Frontier (new Type 8, etc). If I buy one using ARX on the Steam account(s), will the new ship purchase get wiped when I clear the PC account, or as a 'purchase' it will always be available?
From the post at the start of the thread:4. Is there an end-date to the portal transfer? I don't want to miss out obviously, but I don't want to transfer copy too soon as that will mean I may have to stop playing until I get a powerful enough PC, which is unlikely to pass wife-approval any time soon...
Wasn't really expecting such a quick response from Fdev considering it's the Christmas hols but thanks .Denied.
Can I look at my bookmarks on Xbox after the transfer?
I see, thanks! The Xbox account still exists, you can log into it any time you want to check stuff, but nothing you add or change will appear on the PC version, so you can look at them sure, delete them etc, whatever you want. The PC and XBOX are two different galaxies so they will each have their own set of bookmarks.
