The Deep Space Support Array (DSSA) | A FleetComm Initiative

Just wanted to say that this is an absolutely brilliant initiative. It's things like this, the Fuel Rats, the Hull Rats etc that take this game and make it something that really is more than the sum if its parts. I hadn't clocked the DSSA when I set our on my latest journey (Hawking's Gap from the Outer Spur and return to the Bubble from the 'North') but now that I have I'll definitely be paying Artemis' Rest a visit, and most likely DSSA Ironsides as well. From there I'm likely to return to the bubble via some of the deep space stations, just to check them out, can't wait!

I'm currently 3500 lyrs from Artemis' Rest, hoping to be there by the weekend.

@Qohen Leth - Both my carriers are where they should be. DS 12 is in Flyoo Prao JC-B d1-5 , and DS 27 is in Eishoqs QM-J C10-1

@CMDR Urania Minora Cmdr, I'm hearing reports that your carrier #28 is not in its stated location, can you confirm it is?

Hi All
i don’t have a carrier and unlikely to afford one. But I like the idea of making use of use them as I return from Sag A to sell my exploration data and make repairs.
I operate in private group rather than open, does a carrier exist in all game states?

yes, the carriers are present in all game types

DSSA - thanks! Yesterday I finally arrived at Beagle Point! It was an interesting journey. Interesting in terms of the manual route in the final stages of the journey. Thank you for the islet in the abyss!) Too bad there are no modules on sale on your DSSA Distant Worlds( Although I was hoping to go overfit the ship and help with some tritium.

Thanks, apparently some people don't see carriers in some systems 🤷‍♂️
I've had this happen to me myself now. A carrier arrived in a system recently (somewhere within the previous hour), and while it was listed as a contact, it didn't appear on the system map. Jumping to it also gave me an empty instance. The carrier presence did show up in the galaxy map though, and the next day, everything worked properly.
So, I guess it's just the usual: bugs.

Hi All
I visited DSSA Sesame today on my way back to the bubble and went to sell some exploration data. Can anyone explain how the fees work please? The Service Fee was set at 0%, I didn't get any warning/message when I entered UC or hit the 'sell' button about any fees but when the first to discover bonus screen came up with the bonus credits it stated the figure was after the 25% fee.

So does the 25% fee apply to selling the data or just for first to discover bonuses? If the former then this need to be made clear (by Frontier of course).

By the way, really good job with this initiative. Wish I could afford a carrier to contribute. I love the way the ED community responds to challenges.

Universal Cartographics has a hard-coded “25% fee” attached to Fleet Carriers... 12.5% goes to the Fleet Carrier itself. The other 12.5% goes to Universal Cartographics.

Thanks, so should a non-FC owner know this up front as it is not mentioned anywhere until it is too late? And even then only on the first to discover bonus screen.

Thanks both, only right to assist with the carrier owners costs. Out of interest, does UC take a cut when you hand data in on a station or ground base?

Good evening everyone! I wanted to post the same message that has been posted on the FleetComm HQ considering the deployment operation of the DSSA Pilgrim's Harbor:
Right now our carrier is located near the Bubble, in COL 285 Sector DC-K A38-5. You may already guess that this is due to the LTD spot located nearby. Because out of the 3 carriers at our destination only mine has been active in the last weeks, i feel quite some responsibility towards the deployment. Our team thus decided that it is best to raise as much funds as it is possible.
Thus our current goal is to supply the carrier with LTD's to an amount that would equal to at least 5 years of upkeep costs. This means that with cut services(no outfitting and shipyard) we will need at least 4.3 billion credits and if we want to keep all services at least 7.2 billion credits. In combination with the fuel costs to get our carrier going (28.000 Tritium * ~30k =840.000 credits) this means that we will need about 5 billions at least up to 8 billions at max.
As of now we have about 3.5 billions worth of LTD's stored at the carrier and 1.5 billions already in the financial capital. I would thus invite everybody willing to help to donate LTD's to the DSSA Pilgrim's Harbor(location above) at a small sell price(230.000 p.p.) so that we can resell them back in the bubble for a higher price.
The launch date for our carrier is the 15.07, which means that we have over a week to finish off our current goal. The carrier will then in the first step head towards Colonia, where it will remain for 1-2 days and refuel and then continue it's path towards the destination. I also invite everyone who is interested to come along with us on this journey!
Because I've been suplying my carrier alone all the time (the message above is roleplayed) i thought it might not hurt to request some help. I am thankful to anyone willing to help in advance and want to guarantee that all the money will go towards the carriers budget for upkeep. If we will overshoot the current goal i am also ready to transfer the money in order to help nearby DSSA carriers.

Perhaps you could join or create another initiative. There is definitely room for more FCs out there, especially if you are ready to go. I'm looking at the section of the galaxy below, and see many opportunities to carve out an interstellar highway to the Errant Marches, for example. Vulcan's Gate stands out as an area of opportunity.

If you pick a spot anywhere below, even termporarily, you'll generate traffic.

The view on edastro.com cannot show the carriers that have not announced their destination yet, so the picture is somewhat misleading. There were three sign-ups each for the Errant Marches and Vulcan Gate regions, but four of these six have not announced their planned deployment systems yet. Another one has announced a system, but it's about 10k LY outside the region they signed up for. That's why there is just one marker (for my DSSA Andromeda Calling) in the southwest.

The DSSA Tracker gives a more realistic picture: 105 carriers are signed up, 22 have not announced their destination yet, or only in way that does not allow putting a marker into the ED Astro map.
