I got me an ATI card as well. The game seems to run much better with that rather than Nvidia hardware.Ok so I couldn't get ffed3d to run with my FX5500 which made me decide maybe it was time to upgrade my graphics card. Just installed a Radeon HD 2400 Pro and the game runs fine. I'm chuffed... just gotta remember how to play the game now.

As per my comment on YouTube, it looks great and I'm just hoping my graphics system can handle it all at a decent frame rate
They sure dohoping my old save games will work with it.
Stay out of trouble, buy a good ship, equip it to the hilt and... practice!Well it does look great, but I'm finding the combat very diffcult, even after hours of playing. I've got through a few scraps, but even with 15 shield generators and a 4MW beam, I still get killed a lot more often than not. I can just never get in close enough before my opponent rips me to pieces, and it's usually luck if I get them first. Put me up against two or three tough opponents and I've no chance.
Currently FFE D3D is quite demanding on the computer's resources. It may be your laptop isn't of the required specMouse-Control seems very jerky for a start...are there ways to smooth it, because I've set my Windows Mouse to very slow, but it doesn't seem to make any difference?
