As I'm back at the bubble, and not going anywhere far until 2.1 goes live, I've decided to retake the search for Hassan and Sushil's home world. If anybody has found it already, please inform me, as I don't want to redo already done work...
By the description of the book (and hopefully it matches in game), it's a binary system with an earth-like. The main star gives an actinic blue light, and the companion star a warm red. Per Drew's hints, the system is in the Wredguia sector and around 400ly's from Sol. This already narrows the search quite a bit.
As there are not many populated systems in that area, I imagine that any population might be unregistered.
To narrow the search further, I'm filtering the galaxy map to only O and B stars, and looking for those that have only one companion star between G and Y. There are quite a few O and B stars in the area, but not many at all with only one companion star inside that range. The problem is that we can't filter the galaxy map for binaries only, so a lot of manual search has to be done.
To not search the wrong stars, I'm trying to identify if I'm right with the stars that might give an actinic blue light, and maybe someone more versed in astronomy can help me narrow the right stars down. As far as I understand, actinic blue is given by stars around 20.000 Kelvin temperature, and that's why I'm selecting only O and B. But in the galaxy map A's are also described as giving blue light. Any help to narrow the correct star type further? I have a feeling that I can kick O stars out of the search as well and leave only B stars?
