The Galactic Mapping Project & Historical Archive of Exploration

Is there a particular system of these two that would be better as the reference system? We can mention both in the description, but we need a single one for the POI.

Hard to tell which is furthest along the arm so I'll go for the more interesting one: Hypau AEC IO-Z D13-0

First achievement for Endless Stars Expedition.

During the inspection of systems near expedition regular waypoint, planetary nebulae Dryaea Flee GR-W E1-83, we found a system which by its parameters suitable for the existence of mushroom life forms.
The study of the planets in this system have shown that there really are these life forms. Pilots found that one of growth points.
Composition and types of these life forms similar to what was discovered earlier in the Colonia.

System: Dryaea Flee HR-W e1-124
Planet: A 8 A A
Coordinates: -13.72 -115.17

Name:Chantico
Game map search ref:HIP 38716
Description:A large collection of many stars within a single star system. The closest land-able planet is 7x the mass of the Earth and 2x the size, making it hard yet fun to land. The central star is a massive white/blue star. Chantico is an Aztec goddess of the fires used in family hearths. Fitting for the central star as it provides a single light (fire) to illuminate its children and "keep them warm."

I'm not sure if there's a template on how POI's should be requested, so hopefully I offer enough info:
POI type: Minor
Current System Name: Byeia Eurk OO-Z d13-268
Known bodies: blue white star, 5 (presumibly 6) high metal content worlds, 2 rocky bodies, 1 earth like world. The other rows have not been explored due to distance.
Requested Name: "Hay Stack". (I'm not sure if that's to silly, in that name just name the earth like world to "Needle")
Description: The system's name stems from how the earth like world is in the middle of a collection of high metal content worlds, (I hold a grudge against High metal worlds) much like a needle stuck in a haystack. The rest of the rows lack any noteworthy aspects however.
Proof of being there:

Name: Little Trojan
POI Type: Planetary Features
Game map search ref: Myoidu HS-S d4-3
Description: The 2nd planet shares the orbit with planet 1. That wouldn't be unusual if it were a binary planetary system. Instead planet 2 is on the lagrange point L4 or L5 of planet 1 which makes it a trojan (hence the suggested name).
The fact that their orbits should be stable and planet 2 is in fact on L4 or L5 was proven by flying next to planet 1 and checking the distance to planet 2. The small planet on L4/L5, the star and the large planet form an equilateral triangle which is easy to validate. The measured distance from planet 1 to 2 was within acceptable range to fulfill this requirement.

Screenshots that proof the above statement are compiled in this album: http://imgur.com/a/MUEoE

It is possible minor POI

- POI Name : Herülf's Warhammer
- POI Type : Stellar Features
- GalMap Ref : Juenoi AA-A h23
- Description : System with a blue supergiant (50 solar mass, 449 solars rays) with 2 binary stars, a T Tauri and B star. This 2 stars are very close about the supergiant (1600-1800 sl, look the second screen. The distance is about my position).

Name: Procul - The 'Western' Meridian
POI Type: Beacon
Game map search ref: Cyuefa HC-D d12-0
Description: This system is located close to the edge of the outer arm and also lies on the western meridian. A ship with an excellent jump range and the usage of jumponium is required to reach this system. The initial (and probably not the best) route to this system required a jump of 116 ly.

Additional Information: This system's coordinates are -32762.53125 / 7.1875 / -3.8125 and it lies 2,065.20 ly west of "Westpoint Ormand - The 'Western' Meridian". It's not at close to the meridian as Westpoint Ormand but should it be considered to be close enough to be on the meridian, this one will be the most western system on the meridian.

"procul" means far away in Latin http://www.latin-dictionary.net/search/latin/procul

Name: Ashen Beauty
POI Type: Minor POI
Game map search ref: Byoi Airg WU-G d10-0
Description: There's a non landable high metal content world in this system. It has a black surface and white ice at its poles which makes quite a remarkable sight.

Hi tupe12,

You can look at the original post in this thread for details on submission format; or look at some of the earlier posts.

While that system is interesting, it doesn't meet the "uniqueness" criteria for a POI; there isn't anything particularly unusual or noteworthy. You might look at a few more POI on the map to see what qualifies. =)

New POI

Name: chi Cygni
POI type: Stellar Feature
Galmap ref: chi Cygni

Desc: A system in the constellation Cygnus, chi Cygni was originally classified as a 'variable star' as it undergoes regular, radical changes in magnitude -- as bright as 3.3 to as dim as 14.2 over a 400 day period -- when viewed from Sol. Frameshift drive-enabled exploration of the system revealed that this variability is due to the fact that chi Cygni system actually contains two stars -- a Class K super giant (chi Cygni A) and a normal Class K star (chi Cygni B) -- that are locked in a nearly 16,000 light second-wide binary orbit. The plane of this orbit also happens to be closely aligned with that of Sol, allowing for the smaller, dimmer star to regularly eclipse the larger, brighter star from the prospective of Earth-bound observers. Seven prospectable high metal content worlds orbit chi Cygni A. Two prospectable high metal content worlds and a Class III gas giant orbit chi Cygni B.
