The Galactic Mapping Project & Historical Archive of Exploration

WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!! You telling me now after I am finally coming back to the bubble after three months that all I had to do was ask???????

OK, how about another minor improvement, every time I click on nebula name, £1 gets transfered to my paypal account?

Seriously, awesome job guys, thank you! I love the EDSM even more :)

(one last thing, on the list of top 100 first discovered systems can you please put me back on 20th place? I was there for just couple of hours and it felt good ;) )

Great job to you Baton, but leave a little to others... :D

You only need another 450 to get it back ;)

Rory is going up like a space rocket so I do not think so :)

I could try to catch him but I got to Eorl Auwsy and, man, this nebula is insane, I am finding volcanic moons full of life everywhere, I even found a binary pair of moons orbiting a water world and both are landable, for me is super rare, and starting Thursday I will look for geysers there (sadly is too cold to support life, but that leaves me something to look for in the future)

Of course I will add some of these things as POI, once I find Ruins here, which proves to be much bigger challenge than I thought :)

(sorry for OT)

Hey folks,

Looks like you're full to the brim with Neutron Stars, so rather than doing a full submission, can I just ask if this would be of interest:

2lQ1YgG.jpg

NSqNZ30.jpg

2 reasons...

1. From the right angle it looks like a bowtie (admittedly a fairly gaudy one).

2. Navigation purposes - it's one of a series of systems with secondary neutron stars which I use to get quickly around the Guardian Ruins area and Synuefe. With the primary and neutron stars being so close, this one effectively works as a scoopable Neutron Star, making it more useful in some ways than a standard Neutron Star.

I've spent a while looking there (I was the one who submitted the sector to the GMP originally), but at the time, I appeared to have been the only one. Didn't find anything POI-worthy to log. Of course, I wouldn't say that I'm certain there's nothing there - and you know, I think I'll head back there too. I've recently been debating where to go, as I first wanted to go to some proc. gen. nebulae, but then I realised I've kind of had enough of high stellar density backdrops, for the time being at least. Say, would you pop me a friend request?

Sure! But i probably won't be going out until Beyond 1 is released

Just a heads up from the beta. It is not confirmed (at time of writing) if this change will carry over into the live game. If it does, a lot of existing work will become obsolete: ALL material scan data in EDSM and EDDB, ALL the submitted green systems including the DW1 jumponium highway etc.

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/402117-Material-distributions-have-chang
Also all record holders would have to be wiped from Elite Galaxy Online and EDSM.

Did planet sizes and locations changed!?
In EGO there are also the records of planets with highest level of Polonium, highest Vanadium, and so on, as well as the lowest.

http://www.elitegalaxyonline.com/planetary-composition-records/

Checking EDSM, I can see it doesn't have that kind of data, so EDSM records probably should be fine. Only searching planets based on materials wouldn't be correct anymore. I hardly do that anyway. I search in each system on route, so it won't be a big issue. But EDD won't be any help to a pre-scanned system.

If you skip to the latest posts in that thread, FDev have confirmed it was not intended and is being looked into (courtesy of Anthor from EDSM).

Here are some of the discoveries that i made in my trip to beagle point and back. Sorry for this layout, i hope its easy for everyone to see everything. If something is worthy to be a POI, i can provide more details and the correct layout.
Probably not many rare stuff there, but it was my first big trip, so you all guys can judge better than me.

Thats what i got guys.

I also discovered a sector that is FULL of black holes (dont know if it is known or not) and i mean HUNDREDS, if not thousands. And it is the BRAISOEA sector. Found them using the AA-A H and AA-A G. For example: typing in the map BRAISOEA AA-A H4 and keep pressing the arrow, the map goes to 4, 40, 41 - 49 and then to 400 and keeps revealing black hole systems. More than 99% of them unexplored. I visited about 40 of them and then i left the sector.

I went from Colonia to Beagle Point and visited allmost all the POIs on my way, so a huge thanks to all the commanders out there that discovered them and made my journey, trully amazing. o7

Thanks for sharing Cmdr; some interesting systems there - I'll take a trip to some of 'em next time I'm out that way..

I'd like to add another system please:

Reptile Point
Stuemeae FG-Y D3465
Historical POI

Bearing a type K star and type M dwarf, the system is 0.74LY from Sagittarius A* and was the system from which the Useless Reptile, the first ship to reach Sagittarius A*, engaged its frameshift drive to enter the Sagittarius A* system.

https://youtu.be/W8wJIJSkjPY

(I'm planning to head there again after the Enigma Expedition to get more info on the system.)

Interesting. In the passing years, that star has moved an incredible 50 light years further away from Sagittarius A*. No way could my ship have made that jump to Sagittarius A* in one go now. Also, it has fewer planets than I remembered, i.e. none now.

I feel like everything I thought I knew now is wrong. :(

Please clarify - has the star moved? In the live game or the beta?

It's in the live game, and its approximate coordinates are 80:22:25940. I have the old system map data from it, although no detailed info.
