The Galactic Mapping Project & Historical Archive of Exploration

What are the rules on submissions of objects that can not be reached? I've found at least one nebula that can not actually be reached in game.

There isn't a rule for those but ideally if you could submit a screenshot from a location that's out toward the POI, that will be ok.

The mapping project was set up to encourage explorers to travel further and further afield throughout the galaxy and bring back info and first hand descriptive text of what they've seen. But that's not always possible. As long as an attempt is made to get as close to a POI as possible, I think thats fine.

Awesome work, Andrew.

I think there are a few other sectors in or near the complex that are currently permit locked:

Barnard's Loop Sector
Col 121 Sector
M41 Sector
NGC 2264 Sector
Col 97 Sector

Thanks!

Barnard's Loop Sector is cool and will be added, the rest does not belong to the OMC and will be included in further area episodes.

Do we have confirmation that it is the entire sector that is restricted? Or only some parts of it?

Man - I used to fly out there. Horsehead Dark Region as well... but that was back in 2014 and before those areas got walled off.

No, as far as I can tell none of Barnard's Loop sector is permit locked, but can be dificult to get to due to the locked regions around it.

You can reach some areas near it with neutron jumping. I know this only because we did that recently in Fuel Rats for a client who was far afield looking for Thargoids =)

I usually don't submit 'green' systems (as they're getting well covered), but this system is in an area with very sparse systems, some of which can only be reached with 70-80+ Ly jumps. Jumponium in this area would be exceptionally useful for explorers.

POI Name: Pheia Ain Depot
POI Type: Green System

Hi!

Found this system with seems like transiting extrasolar planet. similar to OGLE-TR-113 POI on galactic map.
It has class IV Gas Giant 11.37ls from arrival point.

GalMap ref - Sifeae IO-Z c13-19

I've already left this system, and realised that it can be planetary feature only when reached OGLE-TR-113.

Maybe you can add this as planetary feature POI to EDSM Galactic Map.

Unfortunately, the two earth-like worlds, orbiting a common gravity center, were too far apart to take a unique picture. (Sorry for my english.)

Good day CMDR!

Thanks for your contribution. The planet is in fact what seems to be a Hot Jupiter, and in procedurally generated star systems they are not that uncommon and hence not that special. Sorry this time, let's hope for the next.

Thanks again and fly safe!

I just returned from a 1 month trip today where my goal was to search primarily for unexplored O Stars/Wolfs and Super-Giants.
Of the many discoveries I made the one that I feel most lucky to discover was a Super-cluster containing over 80 O Type Stars all within 1 jump of each other.

This image was taken from inside this cluster and it location is on the HUD of my ship.

Hope it helps with your fantastic mapping.
