Yes, you have to configure EDD for it to upload your data to EDSM. This will only work for new data though, earlier data will have to be manually uploaded by you.

To configure EDDiscovery:

  1. Go to the 'Settings' tab, select your commander, and click the 'Edit' button.

  2. Now open your browser go here: https://www.edsm.net/en/settings/api and copy the API key.

  3. Go back to EDDiscovery, to the 'Commander Configure' screen you just opened. In the second panel called 'EDSM Information (optional)' you have to fill in your EDSM username, check the box 'Sync to EDSM', paste your API key (optionally you can check the 'Send Event Information to EDDN' box) and click on 'OK'.

To upload you earlier data you have to locate your journals and your NetLogs. Here is how:
Now go to your browser and open these pages:
The first one will take the older NetLog files (not all of them, the newer ones will be rejected). The second one will take the Journal files. You don't have to do it one file at a time, you can select many at the same time (I uploaded like 30 at a time). Also you can upload all of them if you want, if duplicated data is detected, it will automagically be discarded. Note: this is a lengthy process that can take several hours, depending on the amount of files and entries in them.

You can also hit the EDSM sync button to do a retrospective synchronisation of old entries from EDD to EDSM. (The EDSM logo button in the ribbon on DVHeld's pictures)

If you've only recently installed EDD but do have old netlogs from 2.1 and earlier you have to force it to load those with the option under the Admin menu.

i have a question o:

on my way back from colonia to the bubble i found 2 earth like worlds wich were orbiting each other - how rare is this find? and should i fly back to take some pictures? (somehow i missed that opportunity ^^; )

Sure - but until I arrive in Your vincinity there will pass another 4 to 6 month as I scan ALL BH in the 24 Core-Sectors for a statistical analysis about spatial- and mass-distribution of such around the core....

I am afraid that binary pair of earth likes it is not very rare in the grand scheme of things.

OK ok, I will visit on my way to Colonia at some point in April probably - keep a record of them, I will ask for it one day :) (I did bookmark the ones you reported in this thread so far)

Guys,

without going through the whole 1979 pages on this thread, can somebody please tell me how to add my API into the EDSM website so it can get my stats and i can start to see my progress via the badges etc?

Not sure if this helps, but if you want your info on EDSM your best bet is EDDiscovery:
Install, register on EDSM, and get an API key to connect the two together.

yea....dont really want to download another map/exploration program, my harddrive is getting cluttered with downloads for all sorts of things.

is there not a simple way for you to link your profile to EDSM??

Damn just missed the cut for this one:

Description: This system contains 5 stars, F (A), M (B) 2xG and an F class. The issue with jumping into this system, si that the bianry stars (A & B) are less than 1 AU from each other. Jumping in you are placed between the two stars (F and M class) and upon completing the jump, the heat indicator will be already over 100% heat and rising rapidly. One must immediately deploy a heat sink, and if none are available, there is a very good chance of doing some internal damage to the ships components. In fact when jumping in, you transition through the F class star before stopping, making the initial jump even nerve wracking.

SPECIAL NOTE: Seems after submitting this, I just found Hypi Aewsy DS-J c22-0 which has a K and M class at 0 Au. Then noticed in the area that Eowyg Aewsy AL-P e5-0 "Red vs Blue" POI has already been documented and is in the vicinity of thees other ones.

So I am now thinking these are more common than I originally thought out in this region and maybe not worth making a new POI for the one I just submitted above...
