Apologies if its already been asked its just that I played the original elite and frontier with a joystick, I really dont want to play with those nasty console thingys
As this is a full space sim with dogfighting etc and unlike eve which i really dont like, it would be nice/awsome to play with something a bit more realistic if you guys understand what I mean :)

I think FD will cater for all control methods. I'll be using a joystick/keyboard/mouse combo (I hope) on a PC.

I will probably try one of those nasty console thingys lol and also try J/S and mouse/keyboard to, so dont worry something for everybody :)

Apparently according to the November edition of PCFormat the Xbox One controller will not initially be compatible with PCs as they don't have any drivers for the new wireless protocol yet.

Shame if true, heard they will be better then the cheaper Xbox-pc one, still might try the cheap one while i wait.

I've been asking this question for some time now! They are developing Xbone games now but I have to buy a 360 controller for Alpha when (clearly!) then new controller will be better

19.99 on Amazon for 360 con, might be cheaper on e/bay but not by much.

Sounds like you're a little unsure about this whole controller thing .. need a 50/50 on the question ? :D

Haha, no really I am 46 years old and never had a console. Oh wait, I have my dad bought me an Atari 2600 in 1979 does that count? even that had a joystick!

Joystick recommendation... left handed

Folks,

Could you give me a recommendation for a joystick that can be used by both a left and right handed person? Most I've seen assume right handed use and are ergonomically unsuitable for us lefties. :(

Cheers,

Drew.

I'm right-handed, but I'm going to try two joystick setup, so I recently bought a Logitech Attack 3 for my left hand. Haven't had time to test it properly yet, but it's ambidextrous and it seems solid enough. It's somewhat old design though: no hat switch, no yaw axis. It might not be adequate if you are using only one controller. Production has also stopped, but there seems to be plenty of new ones still around.
