Looks very similar in construction to the Warthog, including the ability remove the stick from its base. It's a very good looking bit of kit that.

Any word on the pricing?

According to the pre-order site the cost is $199.99 for U.S. and Saitek warn of limited quantities with a shipping date of April 3rd.

This compares to a list price of $169.95 for the X52 PRO

Sorry, just found the listing on their UK site £169.99 for the X55 and £139.99 for the X52 PRO

Limited quantities.....they could churn these out by the thousands. Just like Apple they want to keep hype, and demand, high.

I will be interested to see what the folks over at SimHQ make of this setup. I hold great stock in their opinion.

X52 Pro Problem, is it faulty?

my newly arrived x52 has suddenly started to produce a fault...
not sure if its something ive done of a hardware problem.
Basicly the main trigger has stopped working..
it sometimes intermittantly works when i test in the control panel settings..
but i notice that both button 1 and button 15 light up when i press the button, when it actually registers.

do you think its a hardware issue, or could be a profile issue.
Only arrived this week, tested it once in Elite, seem to work fine first time..

any suggestions? bought it from Amazon and they have no more stock..
Hoping it could be a profile issue.

Sounds like the issue Mobius had

From memory the trigger has 2 movements and will activate half pulled in and the second when fully held in.
Perhaps it may be an idea to try running the joystick in a game to test but it does indeed sound like you have a hardware issue although reinstalling the latest drivers would not go amiss.
Stocks of X52pro and X65f have vanished of the shelves as it would seem Saitek are gearing up for X55f launch but if your stick is faulty you'll need to return to Amazon and hope stocks return.
Good Luck

link doesnt work for me, dont have permission?

Yeah i tested it again in Elite, and was wondering why it wasnt firing.. Thought it was a little odd, i was thinking my cannon was just over heating quick :s

Will try and see what issue Mobious had first, dont really want to sent it back :(

Should be a distinct difference between half position Button1 and fully position button15 when tested via control panel properties and both lights will be lit in the full position as well.

When i get it to work, yes i get both lights so that explains that then. but its 9/10 times it dont work, so its got to be faulty.
Reinstalled drivers, no different.. what an pain.

If all the leads are fully seated and not damaged, it certainly looks like faulty hardware.

Might be worth trying to test it on a different machine first though.

Luckily Amazon are excellent for returns.

yup just tried it on a laptop same issue..
first position seems like its not making contact with microswitch, may open it carefully and take a look :) maybe something simple.

X52 spare bits?..

Silly question I know, but does anyone know of anywhere that supplies spare bits for the X52 flight controller? I appear to have erm.. misplaced one of the brackets that hold the magnets in place. I know I can contact Saitek, but I suspect there answer will be nope.

It's no biggie if there aren't any as I can use blu tak or something else to hold them where I need them, however I like to keep my options open.

Cheers.

ok, took the risk and opened the controller.
there was some weird white plastic stopping the trigger from making contact into the triggers. Removed, and all is good now :)

Woot !!

If you watch Scott Manley's You Tube clips on the Alpha release he talks about how mouse, game controller or joysticks handle. I think he preferred game controller.

Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog support

Hi,

does the alpha version support the tm warthog? Can all the buttons and switches mapped or are some not recognized?

Does anyone of the alpha participients use it as input device? If so, what is your experience with it?

it works with the Saitek 52 pro profile BUT... not all buttons can be mapped it overlaps..

however its a known issue with game support for more than one controller and will be fixed..

I LOVE IT with Elite... I use mine and track IR in this video..

Yes, it does support the Warthog but it does suffer from the multiple imput device issue i.e. the 19 buttons on the stick are overwritten by the first 19 buttons on the throttle. 20 onwards on the throttle are unique however. It is quite simply the finest stick I have ever used, the degree of control is great and the throttle very precise. I hope that a fix for multiple devices is included in 2.0 as that should keep all the rudder people happy as well as the Warthog owners!

I don't believe it will be.. I can't remember who is was.. possibly Mike Evans who said they're still working on that.. (or its not be resolved yet)
