Wow ROG that surprises me. I've had a number of those sticks in the past. They have been pretty much staple in games for like forever. Sorry I can't help you now mate. Got the Saitek X52 set and pedals now. I hope someone else here can though. How about it peeps? Anybody got one who can help him out? :cool:

I've had to break out the X52-pro that was going to be a surprise present for the lad, so I'll have to make sure I don't get coffee on it... :)

Had a fiddle with some of the other presets, and couldn't get the CH stick working. I'm sure it's just me - there's vids on youtube with them working in E: D. Or maybe it's because it's an early alpha build.

Hello fellow Commanders,

I recently got the Thrustmaster T.16000M series. It is my first joystick in a while...my last one was in the '80s for C64 (now I just realized I am dating myself :p)
The T.16000M profile is not in Elite controller setup, but is there a way to get the thrust slider working well with Elite? I am finding that I cannot make small increments in speed...only from 0 to max speed. Would be nice if I could also use it for both forward/backward thrust somehow..but I am not sure how. My C64 joystick was very simple.

Just got the premium beta single player program running...

Can anyone tell me how to go about getting a (Mk 1) Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro joystick recognised and working, please? It isn't on the drop down list of controllers.

Create a custom control profile and start creating bindings.

Remember to plug in the joystick before you click "Play" on the launcher".

I think you'll have to select one of the others, and then start re-assigning buttons and axes etc.

Could definitely do with more profiles, generic ones, saving etc.

The presets are just a way to fill the bindings below for you with the joystick inputs. You don't need to select a preset to make a joystick work. You just select the binding you'd like to change and then press/move the input you want it bound too! Simple.

Thanks mike, could I suggest some sort of 'test' functionality without having to drop back into the game scenario, and will we be able to save multiple binding profiles?

Thanks for your replies, everyone. I'll give it a try.

It might be an idea to have some sort of wiki for joystick settings, where users of more obscure sticks can put settings they find work, as questions like mine will get asked a lot more when the game goes public.

Joystick recommendation

I thought I saw a Joystick thread before registering as a user for this forum - can't find it now. Or is there a guide or Wiki for such a thing?

I'm planning on buying the Beta premium but wanted to get my hardware set up first.

Logitech 3D Pro extreme preset

Anyone using this joystick? Can't get it working at all with Elite. There is no preset for it and custom does not allow me to changes anything. Is there something I'm missing, or is it just unsupported.

Just started playing the single player beta combat scenarios.

Saitek X55 discount?

I was looking for a UK equivalent of www.massdrop.com but there isn't one.
Basically I want to get together a group if buyers to see if we can negotiate a discount on Saitek X55 Rhino HOTASS.
Newegg are advertising it internationally at £122, but won't ship it abroad! The UK retail is £179.
I'll be emailing them direct to see if they would offer a discount at close to the Newegg price for a bulk buy of 40-50 units.

So are there 40-50 potential buyers here interested if the price is right? (I reckon potential X52 Pro buyers would be interested). :smilie:

Hi Pete,

I for one would be interested. To get 40-50 units you might need to join up with the folks on the Star Citizen Hardware forums.
Their dogfighting module is due for release in May and there are bound to be a number of UK backers who would love to get a X55 at a discount.

If you can wait it may be possible, but the stock is really in constraint at the moment. The UK distributor told me this morning that the stock will be landing this week and out to retailers by next week.

As demand is anticipated to be high I don't imagine anyone will want to give them away at this time. I begged for 20 and I got... 5 :rolleyes:

I have no idea who got the lions share of the UK X55 stock.

The date has slipped several times, so I will believe it when I see them in our warehouse.
