I think* I remember that in one progress diary David Braben said that they are looking to support the new Slapatron. It's basically a robotic arm fixed above your head on the ceiling that is controlled via a life motion capture of your body and can produce force feedback effects all over your body to simulate wind on your clothes, bullets hitting your chest or arms, it can shake your whole chair or simulate players in PVP kicking you in the groin. There is a kickstarter for it somewhere I think. It might still be open.
Anyways this will be great especially for horror games on the Oculus Rift, but for ED it would be awesome too to experience the effect of micro meteorites piercing your cockpit and impacting your body.

The programming software will be there in a few minutes too.

I'll edit my previous post when it's (finally) uploaded.

So is force feedback technology going to be supported??

i have 2 microsoft force feedback 2 joysticks and i love them!!
the force feedback effects give extra realism! all simulators of 90's and early 2000 supported force feedback.
it would be a shame if elite wont support that technology.

playing with the alpha and my force feedback joystick i can say that it works as a normal joystick. no vibration or force feedback effects.

For one cool joystick they tend to be a Pain in the rear to setup with Ati graphics card and windows 7. My computer detected the joystick but the main problem I had was getting Smart Technology to work correctly. Now that it works I feel like I can kill ANYONE. J.K. Believe it or not I am using every button. Every rotary control. For Slide controls. Like 25% slide right. Then I have a hat control that for fast slide controls.

But I love my game setup now.

Anyone looking for an X65f force sensing stick?

If so then please PM me.

They are no longer available so I had to buy from the US. It is in good condition, with a few minor scratches on the stick base part.

Can be collected from London (my preference).

Cheers!
