I have yet to try it in any games as I think Windows is having issues as it does read as 2 joysticks.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you're having. This probably isn't a "problem" though, & if it's anything like my Warthog, that's how Windows will see the devices, as they each have their individual USB cable & device ID.

It shouldn't be an issue in newer games, such as DCS World, ARMA, & so on, but older software - like the old Wing Commander, X-Wing & so on - will only see one of the two devices, the one that is set as the default device under the Advanced tab of your game-controller settings in "Devices & Printers".

No I am beginning to wonder if I have a defective throttle. It is working on the Saitek software under settings its getting readings on there (X&Y Axis) now, but buttons still wont register in the Saitek Software. This is for the throttle.

Thanks for the idea of Vjoy didn't remember about it. Yeah I will check out the SimHQ forums as well.

I just ordered one of these yesterday. Looks great and not that much more expensive than the X-52 Pro. I hope you get your issue sorted. If I have any problems I'll be sure to let people on here know (In the appropriate hardware section of the forum)

The software lets you do some other interesting things too, like assigning macros and having up to six sets of bindings that you can switch on the fly with the mode dial and pinkie (shift) switch.

I have an X55, and have had zero problems with the software.

However, some people have had issues with USB 3 and Saitek sticks. Did you connect to a USB 2 slot when installing? Some people had to turn USB 3 off too.

My main issue with the X55 is the sticking caused by the joystick's plastic rim against it's base. I ended up removing the spring and attaching about 12 elastic bands!

I'll probably RMA it. I need to decide whether to get another, stick with the X52 pro for the time being, or go for a Warthog and lose the twist action.

I think it might be in a USB 3 slot and I cant believe I didnt think to move it. Will try that tonite thanks for the tips!!!!

@BlueThunder I dont have any issues with how the Stick seems to move. No sticking at all that I can detect. But then again I havent gotten into a game yet lol. What games have you had it working with?

I've only used it on ED. If I try and move the stick there is sometimes a little bit of friction, meaning that small movements need a tiny bit of grunt to get going.

If you do a X52 driver reinstall you'll have to Google how to remove them - I had to remove some registry stuff. Also, when I installed they took an absolute AGE. I thought the machine had hung!

You mean X55 driver not X52 right? How did you get ED to see them both. I contacted support and they said it wouldnt work. Another poster said they are working on the issue but no eta.

Plea to Warthog users

Bought my hog but struggling to get controls setup in-game and/or via TARGET.

Could someone please help me, ideally by posting a TARGET config file that I can simply plug in and start enjoying alpha :D

Alternatively, a screen shot of the ED controls pages showing assignments would work too.

I do not have pedals btw.

It's a real pity that I plumped for an expensive HOTAS and go into the defaults in ED only to see the less expensive models nicely catered for

Would have posted this on the alpha forum but I'm still awaiting my access to come through.

Merged a couple of threads into the Joystick discussion thread. :)

Anyone selling an X65f?

I've had a look for a Saitek X65f joystick and throttle combo, but it seems they have gone the way of the dodo.

Anyone aware of one for sale? Please PM me if so.

Cheers!

Cheers sir. I saw that, but too expensive for me. One went on eBay a few days ago for 280, which I didn't bid on. They were selling for under that brand new before they were discontinued. For that money I could buy a brand new Warthog. Perhaps I would really like the X65f, but given I can't try it anywhere before I buy I'm loathe to spend a huge amount of cash on it.

Thanks for posting though.

An update for anyone interested.

Saitek tech support said they aren't discontinued and are expecting more in April. EDIT: Complete nonsense spoken by the tech person. The X65f is discontinued.

I'm still looking to buy though.

I did contact the Amazon seller above, but they wouldn't accept returns. Additionally Saitek said the warranty would not be valid if I bought from them.

Why did force feedback stop happening, does anyone know? I miss my rumbling battlemech and large cannons shuddering in IL-2.
Even just a small rattle when space debris showers the cockpit, or a jostle when a laserblast connects. Is this ever coming back?

Help with joystick

Hi
Just downloaded Alpha......Got a Thrustmaster TFlight Hotas X joystick.....but cant calibrate it...I have not got control of my ship...HELP.....

Hey Andy.. if the adjustment you need isn't huge, go into the controls screen and increase the dead zone for the axis you're having problems with.

Also I'm sure the T-flight has a slide switch on the front to switch between PC and Playstation so make sure it's at PC.

It definitely does have one :)

You can test and calibrate it in windows. Go to the start menu and type in 'game controllers'. You'll see 'Set up USB Game Controllers come up. Enter that. Select your joystick and click 'properties'. You can calibrate and test it out there.
