The Planetary landing and planetside missions discussion Thread

I don't really know why they would separate the two. Usually it's done because people with M/KB have a huge advantage over controller using players, but that's not the case here.

I'm sorry to be negative here, but I would have thought David or Michael actually saying "Yes, you will get Planetary Landings ... " etc and not some website saying "David did confirm ...."

Come on David/Michael/Frontier ... it's not hard.
I know E3 is for the journos, but I don't find it acceptable to hear these things from a 3rd party source. You still haven't officially announced the cancellation of The Outsider, and the only reason we even know you did, is a 3rd party gaming website. This simply isn't good enough.

You may not have $83 million, but you still have a forum and now a community blog ... stop leaving us in the dark.

Sounds good fun, perfect for a bit of escapism while the watchful eye of 'er indoors is distracted by the goings on around the Queen Vic.

I don't think that's main reason. Main reason is that PC version will see huge swaths of updates very frequently, while XBO version will have to wait for them on less regular basis, as it will take a bit of QA to deliver each of them.

Unless FD wants to slow down delivery of PC updates - which they clearly don't - I guess it's not a choice but to keep them seperate at this point.

A bit sad crossplay won't come, but I guess that's not really possible at the moment. Maybe in few years time.

Totally pointless sharing the same galaxy when there is no possibility to meet. If I were an XBox player I'd much rather have a virgin galaxy to explore (and stamp my name on) than sharing it with ghosts I can never see.

Disclaimer: I play mostly in solo or Mobius so I don't see those people anyway but at least I can if I want.

But maintaining a single galaxy is much less complicated. For a starter, take GalNet - it is identical ingame and on the community site. So they'd need a separate community site for XBox. They'd need to maintain different storylines, because factions and powers will expand and contract in different ways.

I would like to take this opportunity to members of the forum community here who gave me alot of earache about elements i pointed out on monday and tuesday that thanks to that article i am totally vindicated now and for just this once i wanted to be smug and channel my inner 13year old to all those who disagreed or took pot shots and and say "told you so! :p" .oO(would say a few more stronger words but thats not allowed here, oh well)

now i have that off my chest back to exploring the galaxy
