How will the planetary bases relate to stations and politics in system?
I have this question that I have not seen addressed yet (I think): how will the planetary bases politics relate to the stations in orbit (and with the system politics for that matter).
Will the planetary bases be governed by the same faction that rules the station in orbit or will they be independent political entities? how will they affect the influence of the factions in system and so the background simulation?
This brings the very important issue of what is the real function of stations in the galaxy. As I see it, they are trade posts where the goods produced in the planet are taken in order to save the time of pèrforming a planetary landing. Or are the stations big enough as to house factories inside them? I guess this could be the case for coriolis, probably. But the resources (minerals, metals, food, must all be extracted from the planets, that´s for sure.
This means that there must be some kind of "shuttle" service of ships that carry the good from the planetary bases to the stations in orbit. Could this open new possibilities for players, so we can carry stuff back and forth from planet to station?
There are many more possible combinations to create new gameplay options when we have planetary bases in my opinion, and I hope that FD can provide plenty of this
