Oh of possible interestā¦ I was looking up mbooni (permit lock reward from salvation)ā¦ It seems the swahili word mboni means pupilā¦ the dark circle of the eyeā¦.
and for anyone who didn't earn the permit this past weekend I asked during supercruise news if they had plans to release an alternate way to earn it and they said they did.

Iām of the opinion that Salvation might well be āGailā (which can also be a male name according to Wikipedia), the anti-Thargoid AI developed by Galcop as mentioned in the GCs Sarasvati logs. It would be nice to have a follow-up to that storyline. Some of us spent a while trying to find the other Thunderchild units that were hinted, and there was supposed to be a very important data library that was never found....
When (IF) todayās update ends (itās running really slowly!!) I can see if I got the Mbooni permit....
With my RSI I wonāt be doing any more goid bashing for a long time, but I might nail the new Burst Gauss Canon over the mantlepiece and impress my neighbours!
Edit: I see Saud Kruger is looking for new ELW as ātourist destinationsā and luxury cabins for VIPs will be reduced in price...methinks The Club is getting ready for Exodus!

I was really hoping Salvation might lead to a way of interacting with one or more Thargoid factions beyond pew-pew,.maybe even on foot at a station or the like. Looking less likely. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I doubt it based on past performance. [Or current performance shurely? eds.]
Ah, I don't think peaceful interaction was ever on the cards. There never was an appropriate in-game mechanism, and it seems the vast majority just want to pew pew so the weight of evidence is against humanity... unless that Universal Translator finally emerges from the Holloway research lab...

Eta Carinae and the Eta Carinae nebula are also 'in the forecastle' of Argo Navis. I think there are some Guardian stuff in the nebula.
Now im going to have to go check there when im done with the center fun

I've been thinking... You set out on an adventure to discover the galaxy and you stumble across Raxxla and then carelessly lose it again.
Where would be some of the first places you'd head for..... I'd probably head somewhere you'd seen planets outside our solar system...
So I've been looking at the discoveries in a timeline for exoplanets by NASA and started visiting the systems (haven't gotten very far yet!)... The nearest required a permit (Van Maanen's star and discredited discovery too but what the hell!) so that took a while and the next (Alrai) was an interesting system with a nice massive dying star and seen some nice scenery already.... But nothing of Raxxla interest so far...
However the first discovery of extra solar planets was in PSR J1300+1240... Which is 2K LY from Sol but a bit tricky to get there as it's above the galactic plane.... I was wondering if anyone else has suggested this avenue before or been to J1300+1240?
