Did you see the blue m&m triangle they made on the desk the other week?

Definitely made a point of blue m&m ones only...

So guardian related?
Our ships interface panels form from blue triangles that look like Guardian Active Obelisks. It is one of the reasons I suspect Thargoids are Guardians and our tech is based off them.

And they made a point about listening for other things in the scanners a while back when the Maelstroms first arrived but that could have meant the other ones... Think they were supposed to be found that way rather than the graphical bugs they had when they released them ..
There are opposite things, they do anti-corrosion to be in the whirlpools.
In these systems, the weapon of the guardian destroys itself.

ROFL.... you have to watch the live stream to see how conspicuous it was... and that screen cap is from the Burr Pit not me....

I did watch the live stream and chappy on the left makes a BIG deal about the Blue only M&Ms and chappy on the right awkwardly makes the triangle on the desk later....

Just thought I'd point it out as people were talking triangles.....

And I'm still laughing at your pic... but you missed the logo on the hoodie!

Humor me with this thought: Thargoids aren't real and have never existed. They are nothing but a figment of an overactive human imagination.

All that has ever existed is Humans, Progressive-branch Guardians, and Traditionalist-branch Guardians, a handful of bio-engineered species created by either Humans or Guardians, and a few species that naturally evolved. Otherwise, what we call Thargoids are the Traditionalist-branch of the Guardians. The problem: both groups have bio-ships and are considerably more concerned about Guardian AI becoming aware of their existence. That, or the snake ships were Guardian all along but the purported technological incompatibility is largely a work of fiction (we have bio-chemistry parts to our ships and bio-circuitry). Our ships themselves, may then be part of whatever is possibly externally configuring jumps (aka Raxxla). Even a cursory reading of Guardian technology reveals our communication systems are almost identical to Guardians. There are also multiple references to Through-space holo-comms in earlier games.

Mmm but here in lies the problem, if there is something in game which no one has ever been able to find because it literally is so obvious, then we need to reassess our practice!

If it’s not related to Raxxla then such expenditure of energy is fruitless, if it is Raxxla then we need to assess the evidence provided to us and the most obvious solutions?

According to Frontier Developments themselves, via their spokesperson M Brookes, it is in the galaxy. Ergo it can’t literally be in our ship? It has a location.

If it’s ‘obvious’ then is it some ‘obvious’ visual clue within the galaxy map, or some obvious concentration or cluster of stars or names or a very obvious nebula which any layperson could find…?

One persons idea or glaringly obvious is another person’s idea of earth shatteringly pedestrian.

We are all guilty of overthinking this, primarily because we had nothing to go off for several year apart from our own arcane thoughts or institutional thinking.

It would stand to reason for FD to implement Raxxla or the DW as something very innocuous.

I mean what’s this triangle nonsense about? Likely just a reference to the mystery livestream prize, maybe it’s cheese…

However in this stream they are talking about USS’s… is Raxxla a USS?

These are things I ignore, I scan them but I don’t engage with them…generally because we were told they were semi-persistent.

If we use the unconfirmed Braben hypothesis of ‘you need to scan it a few times’ it might fit, but where and when, does it matter?

Do we need to find the right USS or USS’s and… fill in the gaps?

Maybe Raxxla and or the Dark Wheel is a breadcrumb in the USS locations? Maybe it doesn’t matter where you start!

Does Ethel Moonshot know anything? Maybe it’s a USS we simply haven’t encountered?

If it’s location based then it would make it harder to find, but by they’re statements of it being obvious I suspect maybe the location is not a priority, maybe it’s a breadcrumb trail, and we need to fill in the blanks?

The triangles that appear inthe nav panel during transition? Ive mentioned this many times before. IIRC some of them are coloured blue. Perhaps a message?

Edit: it’s not all that long since Arthur was denying any knowledge of Raxxla!

Also, why would humans have otherwise invested so heavily into genetic manipulation. We, too, are trying not to anger the Guardian Constructs. TDW is loaded with clones or at least genetic super-soldiers. I doubt that is chance nor humans absolute ban on artificial intelligence.

Snakes are symbols of fear and knowledge simultaneously. The funny thing is the war over technology has already begun to happen in humans. The traders and explorers are the Traditionalist-branch and the progressives are the ones fighting our supposed enemy. But, what if that enemy is a product of fear of the unknown. Meanwhile, we know the Guardian Constructs exist and are capable of wiping out a civilization.

Operation Ring of Saturn

@Jorki Rasalas have suggested that we do a collective honking search, starting with the ring of Saturn. As to the question of How (*2) an efficient search can be conducted, all suggestions are welcome.

Description: A cooperative honking search of the ring of Saturn.
Who: All TQTFR's (The Quest To Find Raxxla) are invited
Where: Sol (Please remember that you need the Sol permit)
When: TBD (*1)
How: TBD (*2)

The initial idea is to gather many CMDR's in one or more wings/instances and then honk/pulse our way through the ring. The specific details on how to conduct an efficient search is TBD as stated above.

With respect to the When (*1) please send me a PM or a post here (minus email) with:
  • Email (Not shared here, use for possible Google docs access only)
  • CMDR Name
  • Preferred week day(s) and in-game timeslots
  • Which ED version: Legacy, Horizon or Odyssey
  • PC, Xbox, PlayStation?
  • Preferred play mode: Open / PG (which one)
  • Preferred communication channel
  • What else have I missed?
As to the ship, I suggest we bring:
  • A fast ship, 400+ m/s
  • A Sensor engineered with Wide Angle?
  • A Detailed Surface Scanner, possibly engineered
  • A Pulse Wave Analyzer
  • Access to Sol
  • A good spirited pilot
Miscellaneous:
  • Alt's with fuel & repair limpets
  • Prepare ship/module storage in Sol. Titan City is the closest starport for Saturn.

And please do not bring a SLF as this can give problems with the instancing.

Happy Questing!

It would have to be conducted in a non-combat PG to avoid the inevitable gankers. Possibly the Mobius exploration PG?

Sounds interesting, not sure this would work for me as my time is random but let's see.

  • CMDR Blaggerd
  • Would try to fit in with others, don't have any regular times
  • Horizons
  • PC
  • Open but happy to PG (not a member of any though)
  • I only use in game chat to date but open to suggestions

As an aside, has activation of Thargoid devices (star map) ever had any CMDR been on top of the structure as it activates. I don't particularly like this gameplay and only activated a device once or twice, not then been able to get a SRV to the top in reasonable time. Team play would be one option I expect or a CMDR with better SRV skills or perhaps on foot.
