The box on the lower left side of your main screen will always display your current location... if it shows "Asteroid Belt", so you're at it... I was not targeting anything on the screenshot.

This is why I think this mechanic is relevant to find Raxxla... the Kuiper belt because according to the game lore, lots of probes were sent towards the near-by stars systems aiming to find another inhabitable planet for humankind and then started the rumors about Raxxla... as the Kuiper belt is quite on the edge of our solar system, a probe could have passed by it and sent a signal back... so we might find something inside.

I guess this is what M.Brooks meat by "a journey every player has to go through themselves"... you have a theory, go out there and test it out.

I'm actually not at the Asteroid Belt as you can see from my pic. I'm at the Sun. It shows Asteroid Belt for me because I am targetting it and it shows the epicenter at the Sun.

On the orrery, I can see I'm inside the region of the belt but I can't get the Asteroid belt wording to appear when dropping out.

Edit 2: Mines a glitch to be sure but your pic shows you dropping out in the belt itself? Are there any asteroids around? It would help if you could target the Sun and give us the distance so we can see for ourselves.

I was never able to actually target it... congrats for that!!

I'm on my way back to the spot right now... let me know when you're in game so I can show you.

Edit: Just got there... cmdr Koben Boettger. Send me an invite and you'll see for yourself... also you'll have to drop really close to my beacon.
Curiously the wake signal drop from SC 3 Mm away feature doesn't work there.

please excuse me, but is it possible that you need to launch a chain of missions that will eventually lead us to a dark wheel? just relying on the latest information that some objects cannot be found by the scanner suggests certain thoughts ... We were given a toast if it is considered canon, then maybe we need to take missions from point A to point B and so on without returning back and in the end will we get somewhere?

The problem I have with this is what type of mission do you have to take?
It is true though that the way the mission boards are designed that it rarely gives you missions that would take you back to the previous location and by doing just random missions you would in theory end up all over the place.
If I was to take a guess I would start with a data delivery mission from the DW in SD and see where that takes you.
I will spend some time over the next few days trying that out and see where I end up. I am triple Elite and allied to the DW from the days of SAP 8 missions so I hope to qualify if that is also some sort of requirement also.
I will have to dust off my multi-roll Viper

Fly safe CMDR Q!!!!

let's say the toast of the dark wheel is canon, we deciphered it and found out all the points let's say A B C D. Here most likely we need missions to transport goods, since they don’t seem to require returning to the starting point, though I don’t know whether legal or illegal missions are needed .. We fly to point A, take the mission and complete it at point B.
I rely on the fact that the dark wheel that is a fake, but it is not touched since the fake takes all suspicions away from the real dark wheel, which is logical.

Do you mean this thread or something said by fdev? So far this thread is a theory, careful not to make it fact for others in the future. If fdev please link as Im relying on the FSS....even if it just says 'unresolvable' or similar so anything from Fdev will kill that idea stone dead.

this is said in the branch above, let's take this theory as a basis, it turns out just so we can’t find something, we need to start some kind of mechanism. If you logically think that the dark wheel station uses a minimum of power, then the scanner simply does not pick it up, which makes it invisible to sensors

I think it's fait to assume that biological sites don't use (or rather develop) much power either, yet the scanners pick them up. But true, me must count in the possibility that we'll have to search for the base with the naked eye, like we did for Geo and Bio sites before FSS.

According to the Codex, the DW station is orbiting the 8th moon of an "unnamed" gas giant... for me this means that the whole system and its main star(s) are not in the galaxy map. You'd have to know where it is, fly there and when you're close enough it might appear on your left tab screen so you can target it to jump there.

Edit: Specially considering patch notes mentioned "dark systems" yet to be discovered

No, don’t confuse speculation with fact, nor promulgate it as fact. The codex says
“According to self-professed Dark Wheel expert Lyta Crane, a conspiracy theorist and
'people's journalist' who has painstakingly assembled an archive of relevant data, the
original group was based in a disused starport orbiting the eighth moon of an unnamed
gas giant. The station was toroid, hence 'wheel', and operated with a minimal power output
so as to avoid detection, hence 'dark'.

Crane believes that this starport is still in use, and is the only means whereby the genuine
Dark Wheel can verify its identity; new inductees can examine the records and artefacts
preserved there, and thus satisfy themselves that the group has indeed been operating for
centuries. No such starport has ever been found, however, and rival experts have accused
Crane of forging her evidence in order to maintain the revenue from her billions of
followers.

The name LYTA CRANE is an anagram of LYT ARCANE; LYT being types of substar and arcane meaning ‘mysterious & known to few people’, which may be a clue or may be a hint that she’s talking nonsense. There is enough uncertainty in the phrasing (I’ve enboldened relevant phrases) to make the 8th moon assertion doubtful. It may be true, it may be partially true, or it may be downright invention. The only part of the codex that seems to be a firm clue with no uncertainty is TDW toast, which I think is likely to be a map to guide us to their stealth station, if we can decode it correctly. Whether that then leads us towards Raxxla is a moot point.

Just realised today that because The Dark Wheel player squadron I am in is pledged to The Dark Wheel faction, I can see the systems they officially have a presence in and the stations and installations they control. No new information that we can’t readily check in game on the system map for Shin or LFT 926 but it is quite handy to be able to check on the faction status nice and easily like that.

Checked up a bit on the original Raxxla from Alien Worlds. Not cannon I know but just for giggles.
anywho the Oisir-Raxxla were an alien race from a world who were attempting to set up FTL travel to conquer the galaxy. They set up Talmor Lenses to achieve this and used generation ships to get to where they needed to set up the lenses.
the pyramids of Egypt were one set of stabilizers for a lens which failed.
the Egyptians named the Oisir-Raxxla Horus.
from this I get a couple things that seem odd. Oisir is Gaelic for oyster. The oyster nebula is NGC 1501 and sits with the Camelopardalis constellation. The Giraffe connected to the FR mystery.
Sirius also comes up via some branching and noticed that Sirius is also Sothis which is also Sopdet.
We call it Sirius, the Greeks Sothis, and the Egyptians Sopdet. All of these stars exist in elite, but they’re different stars even tho irl they’re the same star.
Triangulation maybe?

(Raxxla was originally found by a group of ancient Indo-Europeans, and they adopted the name into their language. Probably the Guardian Ark ship. This probably happened in the month of Thargelion, probably somewhere around Tarshish. A bit overreaching perhaps. That is why it's the another etymological origin. My yoga instructor told me this.)
