Some game mechanics have a habit of repeating things to make it easier on the memory. Obvious example is GTA where you see the same type of vehicle you are driving filling the roads (be it car, van, bus or truck). Seems a bit extreme for flavour text but its a possibility.
or It could be that you have found the perfect conditions for this RNG item to appear more than other RNG items hence once you find one more are in the same area.
Yes, Scytale has been gone a long time. Did see a post by the ninja penguin on another thread but that was a while ago. Think they both got fed up with a fruitless quest, and Scytale hated the FSS mechanics.
Could be purely RNG, but given our dedication to tinfoilry and the description of the item? Doesn't hurt to be a superstitious pilot and carry one on all your adventures....that is, as long as you don't mind occasional interdictions lol. I rock a combat explorer build, so no sweat off my back.
I've just been reviewing material / codex / stuff after my break, and noticed this line from the Raxxla Codex entry:
"Undaunted, some Raxxla seekers insisted that the story's author had cunningly concealed facts about the mysterious locale in his book as hints for those with eyes to see. "
And just happened to re-read the 'The Dark Wheel' novella that is linked by Macros on the first post, and 'Eye among the Blind' caught my eye (no pun intended).
Has anyone read this book, or investigated if there is anything that might be concealed to help us in this book? I know the line is more likely a comment about 'Princess Astrophel and Spiralling Stars' but perhaps those with eyes to see look elsewhere too?

Probably stupid idea, but we are brainstorming so... In the "Leviathan wakes", sci-fi novel by James Corey, "Star Helix" security service is searching for Juliette Andromeda Mao, which is sometimes called "princess".

And the Codex says that in that "Princess Astrophel and the Spiralling Stars" book "Raxxla holds an alien artefact called the Omphalos Rift, which acts as a gateway to parallel universes".

In old ZX spectrum times XX was impossible combination in name and used as placeholder in code.
Currently I saw systems XX-X or so I think.
The closest I have found matching direct coordinates, are Greek numbers.
RA, X, XLA = Rho Alpha, Chi, Chi Lambda Alpha = 101, 600, 631
Never found anything at any of the +- options that gives.
I have a more positive vibe for the Right ascension = 20(Roman XX). Not sure how the LA fits, though.

I liked Djidjel’s post yesterday trying to decode the name. I suspect the end character A might indicate Raxxla is, or is at, the primary star, which just leaves RAXX. I tried to decode this yesterday, using ROT1-13, then used the code workbench with Holdstock, Braben & a few other things as the key but didn’t come up with anything.
If the name "RAXXLA" is/are co-ordinates then to me at least the destination probably wouldn't be named "RAXXLA" but something else entirely. On the other hand though "RAXXLA" may have been named from the co-ordinates when it was first established. But why name it after co-ordinates in the first place.
This is probably nothing but I put "RAXXLA" into google translate and the only translation was Maltese for "RASH" or more specifically "RAXX LA" = "THE RASH"

I think I would have to say Woody Harrelson, If we're going by looks alone.
Colours, hair and beard are spot on and even the crocked nose is there.
If he lost a few pounds and the confident attitude, he could play me. Talent isn't requirement. I'm pretty basic.

Well it certainly causes an itch that needs scratching all the time and can't be ignored or forgotten.
Theres bits all over this thread, it comes up every now and again, sometimes with a new angle. Could try searching this thread for 'co-ordinates' or 'ascension' maybe? Otherwise just settle in for a long read from P1
