Got a tad of an anomaly idk if anyone has checked out before. I’m currently in GLUDGOE NC-B C27-31 and out my left window is the bubble nebula. Out my right and behind me is the heart and soul. However, ahead of the heart and soul by a bit is a string of dense luminous stars like the kind of string you see coming through certain nebula like the Orion Neb. However, search as I may there is no nebula there.

You may have missed this that I posted previously:

It does look very similar to NGC 7822 nebula that i have been known to mention every now and then. I just happen to have some pics on hand from a few varying angles and distances...

I've never seen it from the formadine rift region to compare but thanks for giving me the opportunity to share these again 😁
The NGC neb is nice I’ve been there myself too. I thought at first that that was what it was at a distance and I was seeing the stars prior to seeing the gases but no. I made sure I found the cluster in question before posting. It is not part of a nebula.
I have to look at another post here tho seems maybe it’s already been discussed and perhaps it’s simply a stellar forge anomaly or a misplaced thing. But it’s Deff a string of stars like you’d find in a neb, but Deff is not in a nebula.

You may have missed this that I posted previously:

I Deff missed it. It could be just a stellar forge “oops” I do suppose. We may be talking about the same cluster here. It’s Deff not the NGC neb. I’ve been there a bunch of times and I made sure to actually locate the cluster on the map before posting and it’s not within a neb. It’s also nowhere near Barnards Loop so it’s not the misplaced cluster. they were discussing either. What was it you were saying about a lighthouse?”

Personally, I would look for it in the galmap or find systems in that direction and go check it out (the latter being much slower than the former unfortunately). That's how I found ngc 7822 in the first place.
Did do that :) I have a pic for ya. Comes out wicked dark for some reason but I circled the cluster and made sure a name was highlighted.
Edit: it’s not letting me attach the picture to the post ugh. I did post one of the stars names earlier tho.

Another thing that caught my eye was a post about something I had totally forgotten. About. The weird “deep space signal”. There’s a signal audible to your ears anywhere in the galaxy if you point your ship close to Sag A*. It repeats regularly and nobody has found the source yet. First thing I thought of when I heard that was, well there’s really only one weird signal from the Direction of Sag that I can think of and that’s the “WOW!” Signal.
people have run the Game signal through audacity to get a spectrograph and they get this “mountain” looking image. Plus another that looks like a curly tail and another that looks like a sideways A.
Attached is the “mountain” and what it suspiciously looks like. It looks a heck of a lot like the Sag Constellation. Where the Wow signal came from. And a star map showing the origin of the wow signal, near as we can get it. The map also has the “curly tail” people talk about.
Might be an Easter egg. Might be a hint. 🤷‍♂️

regarding start clusters from Spitzer, I cant remember exactly, but there are a number of clusters like NGC - was a couple of years ago :)

The landscape signal has had a lot of attention in other fora, such as the IRH discord, and some effort was made to triangulate its source, ultimately concluding that it was somewhere between systems near Sag A*.

I'd personally say its an attempt to represent the microwave background as ear candy, but I'm happy to be proved wrong.

Previous pictures encoded in spectrograms like the Thargoid sensor/probe stuff were much more definitively interesting.

The CMB is more or less omnidirectional. It has features but they’re essentially on the surface of a sphere 13billion light years in radius (with us at the centrepoint of the sphere). Would be very odd for them to represent that as originating from near Sag A.

To the best of my knowledge it represents real life radio sources.

(As I always say though, I can’t remember where I heard that and don’t have a source. The story does however check out. That doesn’t mean that FD aren’t doing something more with it however, especially as what all the radio sources are is not known IRL. For example, see: https://arxiv.org/abs/1606.01310 )

Forgive my imprecision, I meant radio sources rather than CMB - I agree. CMB is omnidirectional and essentially contant to 1 part in 10^5

I'm sort of heading towards that thinking, and have the fire-power to handle the intercepts.
I just paid off a 3M bounty on my Vette after my last berserk gaming session from a while back, and cashed in 30M of bounties across varied groups at the same time.

First thing will be to ally with NBC, and others directly opposed to TDW in SD. Sort of reverse Operation Less Than Three.

I'm also thinking as a personal journey to complete the Ram Tah Guardian missions, as I suspect there might be soft triggers for getting an invite to qualifying as a 'legendary explorer, adventurer etc'.

/ Ra

Yeah I agree. I felt the Ram Tah missions might be linked to the mystery to. But then I thought how unfair it would be to link that sort of mystery to such a high level of combat play. Essentially, you get to a point where you start requiring Thargoid hearts, if I recall. That's fine, for me, but to some others that means having a Corvette, or Cutter...until you get good enough to do it in smaller ships...and even then it's still damn hard. I am personally not that good and have to be in my Cutter to take down Interceptors. But, still...worth a try. I re-attempted the first Tah mission, recently. It still seems bugged. Can't finish it. But I got a nice 94 million payout...plus the exploration data payouts.

I cant take down an interceptor in ANYTHING! So your one up on me.

Jamesons and red bull is a popular drink! :)
I like to think I was calling myself that before the drink (around 98) but idk when the drink got named. Its not bad but I like Jager bombs and Vegas bombs better. The only scotch I really really like is too rich for my wallet...

The second Ram Tah requires thargoid tissues yeah which means encountering interceptors. But, what you can do, is build yourself a speedy little boat that runs cool and is equipped with the research limpets. Fire off a limpet and then run and hide from the tharg until your limpet returns with the tissue sample. Then wake outta there

Hey, all.
I don't know if this has been brought up, but has anyone tried allying with Sirius - Hyperspace? And Sirius - Drive? They are subsidiaries of Sirius Corp and non-player minor factions at that. They seem quite obvious, so I'd be surprised if nobody has.

It's not uncommon to hear theories speculating that certain drives may be required for permit sectors, Guardian/ Thargoid homeworlds, dark systems (rogue planets)...or even RAXXLA. Yes, I know, "dark systems were removed from the game..." or were they?
I am one of those who believes that either some sort of wormhole drive, MetaDrive (Sirius) may be required...whether this is an off-grid engineer/ modification, completely different drive, specialized fuel, or item you carry.

Worth a shot getting allied the two factions, I'll see what happens.

Just finished Holdstock’s Eye of The Blind. Not terribly impressed, & no clues that I could see
I read “and here the wheel” as well as DW’s books. All of them were good I thought. I managed to get ahold of Harper on FB some time back to ask about discrepancies between the book and the game like why Soontil doesn’t match the books description and why the trash world is mentioned in game and claimed to be in the system but isn’t there at all. And if he was of the opinion that Ryders secret station, kept at low power hidden in an asteroid belt” was in game or not. He said he doesn’t know why there are discrepancies but that the main points of the stories and name places etc were given to him by FDEV and had to be included. DW, if I remember right, said that he thinks everything from his first book has been figured out but there remains some things from the second which haven’t. Harper was of the same opinion, that there were things from his book that were in there by request of FDEV which hadn’t been found or done yet but was either not at liberty to say what or wasn’t privy enough about them to say how.

Thanks Garand. This is interesting to learn in the context of Soontil indeed. How Harper was directed by Fdev.
Yet another clue that we still have lose ends in many places.
