The single most annoying thing currently in ED is.....

That I spent the entirety of my 2 hours play time trawling systems last night looking for assassination missions to do. I did not find a single one. I cannot play the game the way I like because of this new mission system and it makes me sad.

You can manipulate the background sim for your favorite(home) system to get more assassin missions to pop up.
Seems the closer you put a system to civil unrest, more kill missions pop up.

The BGS definately plays a big part of what type of missions are offered.
Since 2.1, I have successfully helped one power in my fav system to rise..it created a war in the system and now conflict zones and kill, assassination mission are appearing when before just mining and deliver missions were popping up.

As for the mission stuff in game being slow, it's something we're checking into to get fixed.

As for general slowness, relax a bit - the game isn't meant to be a rush. :)

But those things were fast before every update those get slower and slower. All things he mention were almost instant year ago and sometime after launch.

Most annoying thing? Having to wait for 2.02 and especially winter! ;) No seriously, great game - if you just do what you like and don't call playing the game "work".

Have a look at the image below:

I would like to draw attention to the following:

Middle section:
Power settings - Why no method of turning modules on/off to see where the power can be found without making further changes.
You could have a selection of radio boxes to turn systems on/off... But you can't because;
Jump Range - A rather important number is hidden away at the bottom of the page in a dulled out tone.

Right section:
Balance and number are different font sizes (this may have been fixed as this is just a screenshot I found online of the new page).
Balance and number are in white - no doubt some artists way of balancing the page but instead just looks poor due to font size mismatch.
I think the Jump range numbers would be better of shown here allowing for larger numbers to be used including before and after range numbers for when changes to the ship are being made.
Balance and re-buy cost could be still on the page under the jump ranges and would look far better in the same colour scheme as the rest of the page.

I find this whole section of the game to be messy. It's better than it was but also worse at the same time. I have no way to see the whole load out at a glance. Also the page where it shows you the nice tablet friendly sections for each type of module is rather annoying due to not showing all module types but rather focusing on the types they have in stock. This just leads to a game of find the right icon. Would it not have made sense to have all the module sections showing with a notice 'Out of stock' if no items are available allowing us to get used to the positions of the items instead of the game of hunt the right selection.

You asked for personal gripes, these are my biggest two. As I reset my game for 2.1 I am using the refit screen a lot and it's painful... really really painful.

Thank-you to the people who make coriolis.io without you I would be lost!

EDIT: Do not get me started on comparison of modules...

I agree but, to me, the worst part is the power consumption. It shows retracted but deployed doesn't take into account module priority. Completely useless to tell whether you'll have enough power or not when you deploy your hardpoints.

That we cant help traders by buying what we want for engineers mods from them in some even indirect manner and then truly PLAY OUR OWN WAY.

i think the worst part of ED is the players who think Blazing your own Trail and Playing Your Own Way somehow entitles them to demand Fdev to allow them to do anything they want how they want to and by association allows them to exploit and cheat when the opportunity strikes them.

Yea, i think that's way more annoying than FDev cratering Power Play and not fixing bugs that really shouldn't have made it into the game in the first place.

What annoys me is the immense distance to the stations in 47 Ceti.

I want to see if I could damage agricultural industries by flooding them with Ceti bunnies.

But it would take so long to go get them. It's like an interstellar rabbit fence.

People constantly saying it's called Elite Dangerous, not Elite blah blah blah. :x

Well, that's not in game, so instead I'll say that it really annoys me that my battle damage graphics are still getting cleared as soon as I jump into super cruise. Maybe I want to fly around in a beat up POS. It's the little things that really tick me off.

Ehm.. why?
Because our combat ranks are not reflective of our skill they are cumulative. That and most people gained their high ranks fighting ships that just spun in place waiting to die. I personally think the combat rank need a overhaul that actually reflects skill based off every combat encounter and increases or decreases just faction rep does. Then it would be fine by me at least if they spawned npcs by your rank. I'm enjoying the high rank npcs coming after me but my grandfather not so much.

Cobra? No problem. Python? No problem. Why, oh, why can't I get used to the ferdie?

They need to move the pilot seat left to center it more or just get rid of the vertical frame and remove the crossbar.

Critical mission update.....you have 0H 0M to deliver your stuff...14 times yesterday, 14 times, come on FD get it sorted. This has now reached dander level 9, and has become really irritating.

Please vent your frustration by posting your current number one.
Well, Commander; there are things that seriously compete with your definition of "single most annoying"...

But the 0h0m updates IS really annoying!
I hope it disappears SOON. :)

For me, the single most annoying thing currently in ED is….

… the lack of exploration content.

The gameplay mechanics of exploration hasn’t been changed or added to since release. Adding first discovered tags was awesome but it didn’t improve exploration gameplay at all. Planetary landings is an awesome feature but there is currently zero content on planet surfaces for deep space explorers. Exploration missions still don’t exist. Comets still aren’t in the game.

Elite’s explorers are some of the most dedicated and passionate players of the game, we’ve gotten good at creating our own content because we’ve had to in order to stay interested in the game. And the fact that the devs seem to be just fine letting exploration stagnate without any gameplay improvements at all is my number one annoying thing about this game. [sad]

Considering the game has 3 ranks, you would think that they would all get some love. Trading is just as bad as exploring - so bare bones you could throw it to a dog and it's insanely boring. I'd love to go exploring but I'm not prepared to waste my time with it and the same goes for trading.

At least trading has missions though! And mining counts towards Trading rank, you can get all the way to Elite in trading simply by mining. Trading has received little attention since release, but at least it's gotten SOME attention!

Nah, trading is not as bad as exploration. Both do need further development though.
