Hello my friends, and forum PvP foes!

Some here have expressed an interest in when activities I am involved with would be open for inclusion.

Here' the open invitation:

If this is breaking a rule of this thread, I have no problem with this being deleted...just use the report button on the bottom left of your screen and report.

BTW, so this is semi-relevant, we play in all modes...as you would suspect...and we need all players, from all modes. Everyone is welcome...everyone has a say.

Not just traders.

Explorers get it as well, as they were more likely to be unarmed - someone went to Sag A* in a combat ship and start ganking anyone who turned up.
For some people, months of work was lost.

You must admit though, the player who did that does deserve a little bit of respect for the sheer effort put into that endeavor.
I mean, really, try taking a fully equipped gank setup ship anywhere - and you'll soon see, it must have took ages to get it out there.
That is some serious dedication to "griefing" others there. Even made Galnet if I recall correctly.

(I put griefing in quotes, as technically it actually isn't griefing and allowable in game... it's not a nice thing to do, but it is not griefing)

Personally I don't think that player deserves any respect as his goal was to screw other players who put months of work into something of everything.

Respect, that's a personal choice based on personal reasons. Acceptance? Absolutely. These are the rules of the game. What I would find most ironic is if the assassin had made his way to Sag A* via private modes to do his Open dirty work.

Accept the base nature of the game...and respect who you wish.

I do accept the base nature of the game, I do not accept though the baser nature of some of it's players who revel in not playing a game but instead take enjoyment by making other players miserable. Like a person who watches someone painstakingly build a sandcastle over a number of days then just before they finish their masterpiece take a high pressure water hose too it destroying it and enjoying the look of pain and horror on the builders face.

It's more the effort they put in that impressed me, I tried to make it to Sag A* in a ship designed and built for the job, and I didn't make it halfway before the boredom got the best of me and I turned back. So it's not the final actions I approve of, it is the effort and the logistics of getting a combat ship to Sag A*.

If people put that kind of determination and energy into making the world a better place, we'd be living more in a Star Trek style life by now and not a Bladerunner one.

Not trying to be mean, but to me an effort no matter how Herculean that is done with the goal of grief at the end doesn't impress me. Now if he went all that way and had a way to repair ships that were in need of it. I would be overjoyed at his accomplishment.

What difference would it have made?

Once he - or anyone - was what, 100 ly out he wouldn't see anyone in open anyway.

Subjective experience is limited at gauging these things, but I've no reason to doubt the OP that open is liable to deflate in participation.

I don't know about everybody else, but for me the trouble is that there's absolutely no incentive/advantage to play on open where I can get ganked by any bored player. If that's your cup of tea, more power to you, but I hardly need that in my life.

According to the devs playing solo/group is INTENDED

Exploits are UNINTENDED.

Massive difference.

Oh - and thread merge incoming :)

FD also said they are equal. They aren't.

Yeah, thread merge incoming! ETA ~2 minutes...
