Modding tools is one of the features that I'm excited about SC.
It's probably aeons away though.
Racing tracks are a [redacted] minigame, independent of game.
I don't really mean mod tools, more in game items created by Dev's that players can use in multiple ways to create their own content.
For example, sure SC is making race tracks, but how many and how fast will they become boring? Doing it that was makes racing constrained to what CIG create. But what if CIG make race tracks but also created (using NeilF's idea) beacons that players can place, giving players the ability to make their own race tracks. Not only do you get the official tracks, and the good looks with it, but you have players going out making content on their own. Doing this helps with the constant content race (pun intended) that Dev's are in.
It won't get boring it will have a race championship in the PU which I see players racing in.

Racing is a part of the SC lore. Everybody thinks that AC is it but everything is being made with the PU in mind. So they will reuse lot's of stuff in the PU but not all.
Racing is going to be pretty awesome when championships kick in with Prizes. Which then can be tied to Planetside livestreams. They could go anywhere and told that the Murray Cup will be a thing.
I was going to respond to you with a wall of text (with real information), but after reading it I realized that its just not worth it, and ended up being nothing more than a rant at you . The constant PR that you spit out in every post is just not worth spending time or effort on.
I will say this, talk is cheep, lure =\= gameplay, and making definitive statements about features that you have very little information on, and is years away from being implemented, is not conductive to anything. Oh and SC will not be the game to rule them all. Could it be a good game? Sure, but not the game to end all games.

10ftC 22 Question 8
We have heard rumors of Star Citizen as an e-sport, also that AC can be used for it. Do you have any plans on supporting e-sports in the sense of promoting it on the website? And hopefully more ideas?
Answer 8 – Chris Roberts:
Actually our thought is there's a lot of potential inside Star Citizen, so Arena Commander would definitely be something that would be a place where people could essentially compete and show off their dogfighting skills without having to risk their actual ship in the way that you would out in the Persistent Universe. And then we've got some other things that we're thinking about, we're had a lot about Murray Cup racing, and we've been focusing. We've got some races and we want to do a race course.
We'll probably release something with Arena Commander, not v1.0, but just after that we'll have some timed racing courses and stuff that you can fly your ships in, which I think will be pretty cool. And yeah, both those things could be very suited to that e-sports set up. I think what we would probably do 'cause we always like to do everything in-fiction is to sort of have the e-sports part of it almost feel in-fiction.
So if you're competing to be the best dogfighter or you're competing to be the fastest racer, you're really competing in the Murray Cup in our universe. You're competing in some big, fictional, invitational tournament or whatever for the dogfighting. We'll sort of do e-sports in our universe. Kind of like Inception one level inside something else.
But yes, we think that would be fun, we're also going to do a certain amount of support for people to watch stuff, so not right away, but we're looking at ways that we can have sort of windows onto action, so you can maybe log in to the website and see some cool battle happening out in space, and definitely if we have a competition or e-sports scene we would figure out ways to broadcast the combat or ways to broadcast the racing, and maybe once the Persistent Universe is up and running, you could even be in a bar in the persistent universe looking at a TV and see basically our Twitch broadcast of that which you could also see direct on our website.
Hopefully that sounds cool, that's kind of what we're thinking about.
Here is some info if you think what I write is just PR . But I am not talking out of thin air. This is from May 18th.
And so you quote PR?
So what is your source for SC? Who created this project? Who is running it? Am I missing something here? The project goes where the Project Lead takes it to. Without CR nothing goes. If CR says no to E Sports there is no E Sports. If you know a higher ranked dude leading this project let me know.
And so you quote PR? Its a ton of "could", "if", "maybe", "not right away"
So let me repeat, your are acting like all of these things are definitive, and then show proof that they are not. You spit out just bad PR, because CIG at least leave them selves wiggle room if they don't do it..
Sorry I edited my post as I didn't mean to hit submit. My evidence is what you posted. You did the work for me.
Edit: And if CR says yes to e-sports, this does not mean AC/SC will turn into an e-sport.
2nd edit, because you can't just have one: I never said it was PR , I just said it was PR, not all PR is .
If you are interested in a competitive scene in Star Citizen, in training to be the best team, the best convoy, the best pilot in the 'verse, get ready. Citizen Arena is bringing it and you can help shape the competition you want to participate in no matter what org or guild you're a part of. Whether team PvP competition, solo dogfighting duels, PvE style missions, FPS boarding, or racing, come join the conversation on the Star Citizen Base's first competitive tournament.

My take is Mr Nowak put at least 2000$ in SC.
I can't say I share his enthusiam right now though, but SC may end up being a great game in the end.
But that doesn't change the fact that AC can easily be a e sporty competition game with settings. The system itself is very suited. If it was something not even close I wouldn't mention it at all but AC seems very compatible with E Sports to me and no wonder why CR thinks of the idea.
I have been part of and spectated e-sports for quite some time and I have an opinion on the matter.
Personally I think AC and space ship racing has no chance in hell of being an e-sport.
There's A TON of other games that were more qualified for e-sports (in term of skill, excitement to watch, popularity of the genre, etc) and never made it into e-sport status.
That doesn't stop them from having tournaments, streaming them on twitch and having a percentage of the people playing it, tuning in to watch. A LOT of games do this. But it's not the same as being a popular e-sport.
Thanks for your input. But even within the SC community which has 510.000 registered members do you think it would work?
