I don't make generalizations about men. All I say is that I see an extremely male dominated phenomenon and that a certain form of masculinity plays an important role in the Star Citizen cosmos, be it the stereotypical environment offered by the game and its marketing, or the online fights between groups of men who are either fans or critics. This is relevant for the social dynamic surrounding this thing, especially regarding the online-fights between the two groups.

If we could return to the topic of Star Citizen, that would be great.

So nothing changes with CIG, another ship sale. I really don't think SC needs anymore ships, they already can't balance what they have.

While the ship stats at this point means nothing (since they never get them right at a concept sale) it's an interesting design.
A fast attack or assault ship that (theoretically) can circle a larger target at range and have the gunner provide the majority of the firepower towards a target.

That said, i can see larger ship designs that could NEED that kind of turret for defenses (The rather undergunned Caterpillar for example).
Also, the sheer amount of DAKKA that design can bring with X4 gatlings to the turret and a further X2 larger gatlings in the nose would make an A-10 Warthog blush.

Not that I will get the chance to try something like that out until 3.0 and whenever that ship would even be released to test.

And by the time it goes from concept to finished ship it might have a completely different design and armament...

I think, at this moment nobody cares about balancing at CIG, they need a lot of money to keep lights on in offices...
So I expect even more ship sales in future..

Are there any avatars with spectacles?

I've been wearing said spectacles since I was 8 and it's effected my view on life. It's been a bit blurry actually.

I would think that we would have genetic vaccination that remove such traits at a young age so everyone has 20-20 vision OR cybernetics in 900+ years.

But...we still use toilet paper since it's inception in 1857 and i have yet to see any sea shells so we might very well have such physical disabilities in 900 years.

Any notion of "balancing" in SC is, at this stage, completely pointless.

Yup, but I think some of their ship designs will bite them in the when it comes to balancing since their very design prohibits any larger changes of armament.

Especially when you get to the edge of the artificial gravity on the landing pads!

Unfortunately, neither balance nor indeed gameplay seem to be uppermost in CIG minds - fundraising has become a self-perpetuating juggernaut, a treadmill they can't get off. The cost of all those offices and staff for so long must be putting a terrible burden on the company finances.

This comes to mind when you say that :D

Curious to know why you feel the need to answer for Britney
More toxic masculinity?

Nope. Just not a victim of the bystander effect. The variations of the "why do you hate men" line are all too familiar to me.

I'm also genuinely dismayed when I see such bristling at the slightest hint of analysis.

No? I was commenting, just as Neo-ST was.

e: I didn't see any criticism in Britney's remarks, but Neo-ST seemed to interpret that there was. I disagree with him. I can't speak for Adept.

This is more eloquently put than my reply. Yes, essntially this. Analysis is not an attack.

Are you suggesting I shouldn't be proud to see blurry?

I did organise a 'Pround to be seen' march, but to be honest it wasn't very successful, walked into lamposts, fell over dogs etc.

Sorry, very off topic.

There was another smaller funding spike today, from approximately two thousand to thirteen thousand dollars for one hour. Looks like someone's really bothered about this years mediocre funding, though if there is going to be one or two more such spikes, two first months of this year might reach the levels from the same period in 2014, or at least be only marginally worse. By the way, there were no sales in those two months in 2014, though a release of an org system boosted funding a little.

uninformed humans are born every day, you can't stop it, it's a part of the human curse.

The funding graph is as trustworthty as a spectular demo at citizencon.

More polycount in avatar paarp-generator than in an orbis station, more physicalizationned fidelity in ship's toilet flush system than on planets. I think there's a pattern.
