How many third-party studios are still involved with SC?
There are, at the very least, guys responsible for the face scans/character creator middleware.

I hate when this thread becomes the place where Defenders of the 'Verse come to test their mettle against The Warlord.
To expand on planetary sizes and the scale in the 'verse, there is a new thread over on reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/65xuq2/moon_and_planet_size/
And it seems no one knows what the actual ratios are going to be, except for "not 1:1" and "much smaller than you'd expect."
Don't see the big deal.
Oh well.
Its a public form. And I don't need to defend anything.
I enjoy Star Citizen. Regardless of the 7-10 common posters in this thread. Its a FUN game.
It isn't a fun game. I would know, I have played it too.
Realism, fidelity, immersion!
Didn't Genuine Roberts just make a hoo-haa about bringing every aspect of development in-house, and avoiding all dependencies on outside parties?
I don't think exploration in E is fun at all. I find it dull, boring and having no point. Doesn't mean that others don't like it..
And yep, I've played it too, anyone is free to look me up in E flying my FdL as Evil_Merlin.
Neither is it a game. Just a small broken techdemo.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but even after you typed that star citizen is still broken late and doomed.

Sorry about that, I have responded with a subjective opinion masquerading as a fact to a subjective opinion masquerading as a fact (goddamit, I'm cranky).
Just one problem: “fun” is a worthless description. It tells us nothing about the game. At best, it tells us something about you, but that's about it, and not even that is guaranteed.I enjoy Star Citizen. Regardless of the 7-10 common posters in this thread. Its a FUN game.
Of the (two) things you can do that distinguish SC from every other game in the genre, how much actual gameplay is there to those bits? What is it about that part of the game that is compelling and that makes it worth-while over something that's actually complete and functioning?I find to be able to walk to my ship, walk around my ship, use my ship in combat and exploration, as limited as that may be right now.
Those are mostly things I cannot do in Elite Dangerous (I said MOSTLY).
Again, “fun” is not a useful description. What is it about it that you actually like? Is it just the visuals?Star Citizen to date, while not perfect,is fun, and I love the details in each ship I currently own.
Not many of them, and not in any meaningful way since so little actual gameplay is available. That's why you keep hearing about the JPEGs.I hear all this crap about JPEG spaceships, but hey, I'm flying them now.
So it's not the massive, realistic, fidelitous, never-been-done-before, simulated universe that Chris has been selling all this time. That's the big deal: the product they've sold to is not the product they're delivering. So?
Don't see the big deal.
How is a tech demo broken? Isn't the whole point of an Alpha and tech demo to find and resolve issues? Which CIG is?

Since SC isn't released yet, its not broken. Its still under development. Bugs and all.
Doomed? Says who? You?

Can we have a 3.0 June release sweepstake?
I'm going with fortnight delay, cringingly bad live stream, historical rewrite of what was promised to be delivered and how the whole game was supposed to be arcadey.
