so yeah, none of that correspondence was fake. just a bit of a misunderstanding it would seem. makes the thread rather interesting though, given some of the "fan theories".

Tomorrow they'll act as if they never claimed it was fake. Or some new forum user will come in and post "Hey did you guys know the history of Derek Smart? He's a terrible person so all the points he reblogs are invalid"

Can you put a % certainty on that stuff this time around? Like are we talking for definite, or just a rough projection?

ETA: Like, I think you could have some fun using something like http://predictionbook.com/ for this stuff.

:) As much as we appreciate your contribution to ED and SC and your participation here, I wish you or someone else in CIG could have also asked and published the same thing from Erin/Chris about Arena Commander, Star Marine, 3.0 and SQ42 (among other SC components) actual content and dates when they were announced and given a date originally each. And before people parted with their money.

- Chris and Sandi are not married
- CHRIS AND SANDI ARE NOT MARRIED!!!
- ????
- everyone knows they are married, it's just that no one talked about it...

What handling fees? This is not kickstarter (who still only take single-digit percentage fees in total); this is people transacting directly with RSI. Unless you have been flagged as the most unreliable and scammy operation ever, no processor will take 25% of your transaction — if you are, they simply don't do business with you.

You know, it costs money to put those jpegs back on the shelf.

And clearly you can't put an Idris back on the shelf in a hornet sized gap - it won't fit! It requires special stock handling skills and grabby hands.

Only a fool - or someone who simply doesn't understand JPEGS - could think otherwise!

I don't think Ben can tell you such things, like, at all. CR, maybe, but he's not in these forums.
Also I don't know if naming dates helps at this point, given the fact that CIG claimed that they were dismayed to find people holding them to the release dates they announce.

Note that I do not particularly mind that it had to be personally him or not who actually published an answer. Probably not his place. But he was courageous enough to post a similar question to someone that has nothing to do with CIG though.

Would have been great to have the same level of internal CIG challenge and enquiry (and corresponding answers in public) at the times I mentioned, among others, and before people parted with their money. We know it was mostly in jest but suggesting that someone must apply discipline and rigor for uncertainty ranges about time and content estimates, coming from a CIG employee, is just too rich :).

Words actually said by the Master Of Ships himself on Batgirl's latest interview segment.

So, that "totally awesome and realistic" NPC from the Gamescom demo... Where does that leave him and all the NPC's? I thought those were on the cusp of arriving with 3.0, but judging by someone who (allegedly) has a hand in the production of the game (more accurately, spends most of his "working" day trying to track down whatever media of old Chris Roberts projects he can find to restore to high fidelity quality), it seems as though the NPC's that would be roaming around the likes of Kareah, GrimHEX and whatever that hunk of low rez rock was in the demo, will be still some ways off from being seen yet.

Hmm, I guess that's ok though.... don't want to rush "perfection" after all.

Oh, and get a Ref- I mean an Idris!

Because they can't make it work, they way they want it to, it's a key road block for the SQ42 project.

If I remember correctly they wanted NPCs with functioning "lives" ie they go to work, they go shopping, hit the pubs, home to sleep etc, so surely that comment must be in reference to the incomplete state of their AI.

Statement and a question.

I had a look at the 3.0 demo video yesterday, and it looks pretty OK, though experience tells me that when CR demos stuff more than a month away from release, it doesn't always turn out well. But anyway, I did quite like what I saw, and at this time I am keen to have a play around with it when it drops.
I noticed something in the video - aUEC (alpha UEC credits?) - I'm guessing this is the beginnings of the game-based currency?

Anyway, because I cannot be bothered to trawl through all the confusing infos on the RSI site, I'll just ask my question: Is this aUEC implemented in 2.5, how do I earn it, and what can actually be purchased with it in game?

Apologies for my ignorance in these things, I do not closely follow the development any more.

Thanks

The NPCs are too self-aware. They keep stealing ships and flying off to other games.

So, unsurprisingly, the customer support letter is actually real - and their CS has shown themselves again to be absolutely abysmal.

How do you even function as a company when your CS is that bad?

Repping when I get off mobile.

Alpha UEC is already in, as it the currency for Clothes, space suit and small arms shopping in the MiniPU
Can be earned via missions ICC, Covalex, and the Shipping hub, as well as salavage from the Yela belt

Yes you can currently earn alpha UEC, you can spend it on hand weapons, hats, jackets and pants, You cannot buy/rent new ships with it though (surprise surprise).

Sounds like it - presumably this functioning AI is in both 42 and PU? Is the mocap stuff for both or just 42?

What does it all mean?
