Not on my ignore list Rolan. Keep posting.[up]

+1 Keep posting Rolan - you save me (and others) trawling through the constant stream of stuff coming out of CIG and you even TL;DR it for us - most helpful.

What surprise would you want this christmas from CR or CIG/SC?(Within the realm of realism :))

How about a relatively decent release of 2.6 to production?
I don't expect perfection - but something that runs reasonably smoothly.

Has there always been that "balance power between WEP / ENG / SYS" thing? I am but a voyeur, so I don't keep up with the fine details of the HUD in different ships.

It's an original Genuine Roberts idea - do not copy!!!!

They actually had a pretty interesting systems balancing triangle in one of their videos - far more original.

I think so - I've never learned to use it is Star Citizen - I've got it nailed in Elite: Dangerous, which (at this time) to me has the more intuitive and useable system.

I recall first seeing it in Starlancer (1999) - but it was weapons/engine/shields - not as intuitive as ED - was it in Wing Commander series?
The first game I recall playing having power management was X-Wing (1995) - but that was Weapons/Shields with engine power levels implicitly derived from weapons and shield settings.

I'm spanish but will take a look in this documentary, knowledge is always good

Publishing financial state (not in details, keeping trade secrets relatively safe), and giving reasonable release plan for SQ42 for episode and SC Alpha 3.0 would give them relative clean slate for Chris and CIG. I know even Derek would give them that, would shout less and go back to wait and see approach.

No tech demos or tech demo demos like AC/SM. They are eye candy, but they don't move anything forward.

Rolan rocks round here. Not to have a big love-in about it but the guy is believable and relevant. The highly strung "others" aren't.

I like it when a release of what CIG has promised (or scheduled as a release) can be called a nice Christmas 'Surprise' :D

I think they have worn us down so much, that when they deliver something on time it is viewed as something so awesome that it is seen as a miracle. This is amazing marketing - when they miss targets it's all "yeah... CIG aren't good at deadlines...", But if they hit them it's "OMG!!!1! Best game developer EVA!!! "

CIG have managed to lower our expectations so much over the years that we will be thankful for whatever scraps they manage to throw us... :D

BTW a little leak from some hours ago.
First here you can see some images of some UI changes:

And seems that most ships UI have changed, but I can't really post anything of this because there is only this one from the Freelancer(quite big):
And here a video with some of the changes:

Hmm, not bad but I hope not all ships look like this.
Clutter aside I felt the old HUD had quite a bit going for it in terms of both style and information density. This one feels very ...Unity3D
All they really had to do was clean up the useless "aesthetic bits" to make weapon stats and power priorities a bit more visible, just remove visual noise really.

This iteration I feel spreads out the information a bit too much spatially to the point that I'd have to actually take my eyes off of my target and look around the cockpit, but then I tend to prefer fighter jet HUDs when it comes to conveying flight information :p

still has faith he will someday have his long-awaited flight vector in ED

Rolan, sorry bud but I actually wasn't trying to paint you in a bad light. In fact the opposite. Your postings are always informative and non-argumentative. Unlike the other guys.

Obviously I suck at Englishing.

You even forgot that two months ago 3.0 was supposed to be the Xmas present...

Ah we must remember these deadlines aren't really deadlines, they're just suggestions to help motivate the staff.

I think the easiest thing I'd want to see from CIG to settle things would be how much of the funding they have left. Citizen deserve to know - the Pledge and all that - and whether they're throwing money onto a pile for bonuses, into a $2m trough before completion or a $200m chasm to get to an end product.

I wasn't sure if this was in X-Wing, as well, but in TIE Figther I really like the ability to boost my weapons capacity at a sacrifice to my current shield strength and vice versa. Adds that extra little decision that could mean winning or losing.
