I think it was very good of CIG to film the documentary of them failing to make the SQ42 demo. It turned out quite good considering. It was as if they knew they were going to fail. But that can't be right. Can it?

I disagree with that assessment. They knew they weren't going to be releasing anything. And so they made a movie ahead of that failure as way to - again - mislead backers into a false sense of confidence.

I mean, think about it. Why make a video of why you're going to fail, while you were saying the opposite the whole time, even as you keep asking backers for money based on those same falsehoods?

Weird would be using 92% of all your twitter posts in the past 3 years to comment on Star Citizen.

As opposed to you and your pals dedicating an entire Reddit sub talking about "a guy who says mean things about a video game", even as you guys spend less time talking about the train-wreck you're funding?

I know math is hard, but if you're going to cite numbers, at least be slightly more accurate

The attempt to silence people who want to maintain their right to talk about what they want, without people (like you) shouting them down, is why - here in the US - we live in a free society. I could talk about Star Citizen 100% of the time, and there's absolutely nothing (besides kill me) that you - or anyone on this here Earth for that matter - can do about it.

It's amazing when, as soon as you guys are on the ropes - and can't defend the indefensible train-wreck that is Star Citizen - you revert to the fallback position of attacking people. Which is why you guys get banned here - regularly; yet wonder why you...

Thanks for the offer man, appreciate it.

What I would like to see is a video from start to finish without obvious interrupts showing you getting into the game, picking the mission and flying over. Whatever else you described (meeting other people, finding derelicts etc etc) is chance I get that but I would really love to see those constant 40 FPS or at least a video capture that would satisfy the use of "excellent". Anything else will be a bonus but seeing as you came across THREE derelicts and another abandoned ship in that single session expectations are high [/COLOR]:) Active chat is a must to prove that its indeed a multiplayer match :)

I d just like to repeat that I wouldnt want to see individual unconnected snippets of activities as you list them (ship blowing up SNIP going through an empty hull SNIP flying around) but an uninterrupted video stream from the moment you wake up in your cabin.

I am not very fond of screenshots. The right software and skillset can show pretty much anything as fact. The internet is full of fakes. At least when it comes to streamed videoplay the required resources to achieve the same result as in a screenshot are not available to the public and/or would cost a fortune. Nevertheless there are people out there watching these videos with a detectives eye (see past CiG trailers which have been dissected by attentive people).

As for the FPS counter, we know about 60 FPS in anything but the PU. No need about capturing old news. I d like to see proof of "excellent performance in the PU when other players are present". Thats all

Sounds good, will try to record something perhaps tonight. For the record too, I am a regular dude. Not a youtube streamer, recorder, etc... I do have a Twitch acct I originally set up to watch other streamers such as Capt Richard (hilarious dude playing both SC and ED). I tried streaming myself once to showcase a VAP I created for NMS; however it is no longer available as Twitch history is short lived. All in all though, I will try to do perhaps a 30/40 min uninterrupted stream following same scenario I did last night, to recreate as close as possible in the PU.

Also, is there overhead with streaming that may impact FPS? If so will likely need to factor that.

it's a Space Game Bromance - it's beautiful, brings a tear to the eye that human beings can contain such tenderness.

It's like flying around in Star Citizen with nothing but the Underpants of Power. The human condition overcomes all odds, even the unforgiving harshness of the 'Verse, that Belief and Vision can defy the very laws of physics that it's meant to so fidelitiously represent.

I certainly dont expect to be entertained verbally like some of these professinal twitchers do talking about stuff and generally acting like on a sit-in with friends. Its all fluff as far as I m concerned anyway. Pure video footage is more then enough ^^

And thanks in advance for your effort

So you are saying exactly what I said. Its possible that the player above didn't have those issues.

Thank you for clarifying.

Chris Roberts clearly says "no promises". In clear English.

Do we know that they didn't have design documents for 3.0? (I honestly don't know).

It's hard to find, there was a little Q&A from a guy responsible for cargo design, where he was explaining how it's going to work, and he said he was going to write a smuggling design document next. In March this year, so after the claimed release date. As for the "no promises", saying that just after making a promise doesn't work.

How so? The game clearly isn't for everyone. Just like Elite. Or GTV. Or LoD.

I don't even...

Dude, what does "If this 'game' was any good, we would all be playing it" have to do with "game clearly isn't for everyone"?

Gamers play games in genres they like. We're all space combat fans (doh!). Most of us backed Star Citizen. Most got a refund. Most are expressing their doubt & fury at being lied to and scammed into this train-wreck.

Which part are you missing exactly? We can help you with that.

Smuggling is one aspect of cargo hauling. Its part of it. I think that may be what he was talking about, not cargo hauling as a whole.

Again, no promise was made for a release date.

This thread is FILLED with space nerds just in case you didnt notice. Whoever participates in this thread is either interested in SC or at least in the genre SC falls in. So basically this thread is FULL of potential backers and supporters. And if Star Citizen was indeed any good.....then yes WE ALL would play it. Did you really not get that? because if thats the case then I think we nailed down WHY we are unable to communicate here.

My numbers are rather good estimates.

You can talk about anything you want, spend as much time doing it. Just don't expect not to get called out on it. That explains why LoD isn't finished yet, and is still quite the bug ridden mess it is.

Truly deliciously hilarious.

Comparing a $150M project, that spans over 6 years and with 500+ people - yet isn't even 15% of what was promised - isn't the sort of metric that a small self-funded indie team would like, when the comparison is the Star Citizen train-wreck.

Nice try though. At the end of the day, as with all my games, LoD will get finished, will get released, and those who it was made for, will be playing it. Star Citizen on the other hand. And furthermore

Most people didn't get refunds. Most people here? Yes. Please be more descriptive Derek. Most people in this thread. Thats not a lot of people.

We would all be playing it. That doesn't say "We all on this thread" or "We all on this forum". It says "We all would be playing it". Due to the use of the words we and all. Its taken to mean more that just a couple dozen posters in this thread.

English is important.

Again Most people in this thread is far from a big number.

Thank you again for pointing me towards a whole heap of videos. I'm not that great with the You Tube interface, but I couldn't see any videos earlier than 9 months ago

Do you have one single favourite video of the new patch which has just come out? Could you point me towards it? I apologise if the video you were pointing me towards was on that page. Sometimes it's difficult for me to see things which are right under my nose. That's why I'd prefer a link that takes me right to the one single video.

Yes, all these people (myself included) who are space game fans just aren't that into Star Citizen..?

I have alpha access, i have the launcher on my desktop, and there is no reason at all to bother clicking on it yet alone downloading the latest version and playing it, IMO. I've clocked more hours on NMS than SC. It got an update recently, it was pretty good.
