Nice one!
(Also, dammit, I was one system away and went to one in another direction!)
Edit - Welcome to the forums! Thanks for joining and sharing your find!
Ha ha ha! Always the way!I'm kicking myself too, I had to come off the game for me dinner![]()
Thanks SCiARA, the current uptick in CGs and the dedication of the team at FD is making this game really live and interactive. Loved the News Channel video today. You guys are bringing the game alive, bringing Cmdrs like me into the fold and enlivening the huge and devoted Elite community. I've been on the game since Lockdown in March and this is these are exciting times. Thanks again. o7its good to see so many new forumites!
welcome all
While we're waiting on this listening post to hopefully do... something, here's where we stand on discoveries.
(Gonna go ahead and spoiler tag, but this entire thread is obviously spoiler-heavy)
The Ghost Ship, identified as the Adamastor, is chilling in Chukchan. When scanned, it provides a log that points to three systems - a K star, an M star, and an A star.
K-Star:M-Star:Synuefe XE-Y C17-7, listening post currently unresponsive.A-Star:Musca Dark Region PJ-P B6-1, Thargoid activity and several logs at the abandoned base.HIP 69200, crashed Sidewinder with the professor's final log.
200 years ago, a science team acquired an unknown object of alien origin in the Musca system in the Coalsack. The Adamastor was dispatched on a "private licence" to acquire the object. I don't know exactly what their plans or route was, but they passed through Synuefe first from somewhere in the neighborhood of Barnard's Loop, went up through Chukchan and over to the Coalsack to pick up the "package." On their way back they had some crazy stuff happen, and one of the researchers ended up stealing a Sidewinder and crashed it into HIP 69200. The Adamastor was supposedly left to drift on autopilot until it ended up back in Chukchan.
Damn do I feel stupid for the late searchI think the M class is the one in the Coalsack.
Good work, that’s a big trek! Extra worth after finding the LP.Many thanks! I made a very long, very fast run from Colonia to Coalsack just to take part in this one!
Sadly, I don't think there's anything to the listening post itself unless I'm missing something obvious; it's orbiting the 3rd planet, a gas giant, which has 2 moons with tons of geological signals but no other identifiable features.
Any thoughts, or has this mystery basically wrapped?
Didnt the Formadine mystery involve listening posts that played a morse or some kind of code every 15 minutes or so? If I'm remembering correctly hereGood work, that’s a big trek! Extra worth after finding the LP.
I would think there’s a message still to come from the LP, but in terms of this particular mystery... not sure. That might be more or less it for the findable stuff, which then takes it more into how all this stuff wraps into the bigger picture (which is pretty interesting in itself!)
I think that thargoid event also happens for the crashed anaconda site, you shouldn't need to worry too much. What just happened near "Wrecked SRV"?
Something was beaming there and after that it just went up and disappeared!
I have a video as well, but first here are screenshots...
Saw as soon as I landed near Geological Survey 23B.
Nice summary! While we're waiting on this listening post to hopefully do... something, here's where we stand on discoveries.

Nice summary!
One minor point - the system with the Listening Post is only in the direction of Barnards Loop, but it's actually not very near it - it's quite a bit closer to the bubble than to BL.
So... Sindewinder in Hip 69200 crashed around 195 year ago.
It is still smoking.
On a planet without atmosphere.
