As I imagine you are not overworked ATM ;)
Given the ships involved and their capabilities - what is the furthest distance you could all achieve and still jump out safely?
That would be a record to stand for a while - just saying ... :)

That would stand until either Elite ceases to exist or until the Magellanic Cloud is opened up. :)

It would and it wouldn't.

It would mean that anyone crazy enough to go out that far would have a beacon to face towards, instead of doing it in the 'dark' like the current rescue party - and for those who are sane and don't want to trek that far out, they'd still see the beacon in their nav panel for the system, showing 11Ly out :p

This is very much Cmdr Persera's record distance and we will not only honour it but we will also assist her in going slightly further on with the three of us to act as "witnesses" to record her distance for independent scrutiny if she so wishes. Our job is purely to rescue her and not steal her thunder. If we ever feel like trying this another time that's a whole different issue!! My ship will need a lot of TLC at the end of this mission and I will too!!!

We have just conducted our last beacon / bearing check with Cmdr Persera for the duration of this mission. Our calculations indicate that we will be at her location and ready to commence rescue operations at approx 21:00(UTC) Saturday 23 December 3303.
