This is a message for Frontier (Hacker in Sothis)

So... you didn't even think a minute about the possibility that
  • your ship was really poorly equipped
  • you are not very experienced (that's not a fault)
  • he was a more experienced player
  • his build was far better than yours
...but you assumed he was somehow cheating because you've been killed.

What's wrong with people and videogames nowadays, we used to blame ourselves for not being able to beat the final boss in Sonic 2.

Sadly this is the new entitled gamers that has enmassed the gaming society for the last 5+ years. Us old timers (well older than 30 anyway) grew up with games where you actually died and lost all progress and items, where save was only done at intervals chosen by the game. We took then that sportmanship and logic on to the internetgames arena.
Bottom line, I blame WoW and the likes. Where you never really die, you just pop up at the nearest magic "savepoint" with your inventory and weapons intact.

/end this weeks "dem youngens" rant

MDH

P.S I know I'm a bit harsh... but I'm mostly right

It doesn't necessarily include the younger generation, plenty of older people in elite share the same ideology. But you said it perfectly anyway: entitlement. Where the game owes them enjoyment that fits their playstyle.

Elite supports two very different playstyles. The notion that either is superior to the other is entirely subjective, yet people on these forums still complain about dying and gankers from entirely legitimate gameplay.

The fact that the discussion remains a discussion is extremely obnoxious as it's always the same thing over and over.

-Player gets blown up in open
-Player complains about it to the community
-Community confirms this is normal for open play, offers solutions

-Nothing else changes. Ever.
There's that entitlement at work

Back to the main point though, OP dhould provide a video to confirm if this was actually a hack.

I blame Fdev for that: they didn't ever characterise their game as a "single-playerish" experience or a "mmorpg-ish" one, they gave us this hybrid that only create discontent with everybody.

Myself, and plenty of others, are not discontented with what you describe.

OP: We're not trying to be hard on you, really, just throw us a bone here and answer some of the questions? What's your build? Do you have a video? This likely wasn't hacking which means we can help you prepare for the future.

Well of course it depends on what you're looking from the game, probably if FDev were able to offer a single player experience and a different mmorpg-open-only-experience back in the days, we'd have far less problems and discontent right now.

Just my opinion of course and yeah, we're going too much OT (as usual when something like this happens).

I finished Sonic 2, and the super sonic bonus stage. But only ever once!

Was heart broken the first time I got to the final super sonic boss.
Had a power cut.

And Sonic 2 had no save feature!

Took me a few months to work up the will do it all again. Lol

I'd say most folks try to jam a square Elite into the round hole of their expectations. Elite is... well, Elite!

First off a good pilot flying with a mix of Flight Assist On and Off is capable of many feats of ship acrobatics. You should see me flip a Dolphin end-over-end some time. Aside from looking hilarious it’s immensely useful, since that Dolphin carries mines - one cascade, one.. well it doesn’t matter, point is I can flip it and shower someone’s face with mines, which has taken our more than a few NPC’s and gotten quite a few laughs from observers.

So flight maneuvers don’t really indicate anything.

Now let’s talk about those MC’s...

Yellow is a valid color option. You can buy it too.
Multicannons are quite good for destroying ship modules, and targeting a specific module isn’t hard at all - it’s called Sub-system targeting, you can do it too, and there are even key binds in your options to configure there.

I’m actually curious - did you happen to buy your Anaconda after a day of Void Opal mining?

I could be wrong here, but your claims and statements sound very much like those of someone with less than 100 hours in-game.
