To Solo Play Players: If You Could Disable PVP, Would You Play in Open Play Mode Instead?

Powerplay.
This is what you get from a legit powerplay target (enemy pledged CMDR):

:)

Recently having gotten prismatic shields I got the distinct impression that PP wasn't designed to be played like that.. :)

AFAI can tell, it's designed to keep you pledged and doing work and not for spending money to do a single cargo run, then buy the modules, and finally to sod off.. Of course if PP is of no large interest and all you want are the modules.. 🤷‍♂️

I you're only after the modules, then you'll never ever need to fill a Cutter with merits. All you need is 25 NPC kills, that's like 20 minutes of dead easy pewpew at a nav beacon...

You're going full hyperbole here.
I was never ever been able to kill 25 PP dudes in 20 minutes in a Nav beacon. They simply dont spawn fast enough.

But i can definitely ferry 750t of merits in less than 15 minutes

Time flies. 8-15 is the best time with them.

What? No
2-6 is the best time. After that they raise to troublemakers status 😂
I'm glad there's some consensus on this because mine's 7 and thanks to constant attitude coupled with flicking her hair and doing the California style "oh me GOOOOD dad" I have a constant urge to nail her bedroom door shut.

Girls are fine - if you can divide and conquer. When they team it can be a nightmare. I raised twin boys - mostly smooth sailing up to the point when they drank the vodka and replaced it with water. As if we wouldn't notice.

Yep. Rookie move from the kids. Everyone knows we rely on the booze to numb the pain.

Btw @Rebel Yell remembering when I wrote about this one guy that killed me with a powerplay excuse and I was not pledged to anyone. Oh... This guy was from the Kumo Crew...

Well... it may also happen in Delaine systems or in case you belonged to a squadron affiliated to an enemy power.

If that was not the case as well... it's been classified as an unfortunate event.

I thought it was very clear that I wrote about ganking. What about this?

Unfortunately, there are a number of scumbags that use Delaine's name as a crutch, and don't appear to be interested in the PP side at all, just being Richards.

I have had plenty of encounters and interactions with Kumo Crew people, and they are generally fun, but some are rotten apples and block list fodder.

From a solo players point of view no change is needed.
Fdev don't need to address the Open reputation and PvP folks will have to face the fact that the population will not increase as PVE folks wont go into Open whilst there is a risk of PvP.
Thus Open will remain a smaller population but at least PvP folks have their dedicated mode.

O7
Just to reframe: you see no problem at all.

Do you feel most PvE players also see no problem - i.e., "If I want to get with other players, I'll just use <social media/forums/etc> to find that group when I'm ready"?

Exactly. Sociopathic bullying traits.
There is nothing "sociopathic," about blowing up pixels on a screen. Save the umbrage disguised as analysis and leave it to actual experts. There are myriad studies and papers that have explored this avenue to great lengths that have debunked this mythical hyperbole that does the gaming community a great disservice. It's irresponsible to perpetuate this nonsense.
