Project Status:
Greetings CMDRs! Inara has TDW in 752 systems, the insane growth just keeps coming! Fantastic! TDW space brings us a total of four control conflicts in the colony systems among the conflicts list and only a couple of places where some housekeeping made it onto the books for the upcoming weekend. All of that looks to leave plenty of time to get your mining ships out there to cash in on the Platinum boom that the current CG has created. Don’t forget to run EDMC or other EDDN updating tools while playing, fresh data on inara makes it easier/better for everyone. Have fun out there CMDRs!

Items of note:
Lave - ~12% OK for now. Fix at 10%

Lots of systems where TDW is too high, or we are the control faction but too low. I’ve ignored these unless the next faction is ~10% or less from challenging us.

TDW too low in:
Systems where TDW is below ~8%, boost to 15%
- Zeaex - TDW 2.8.%

There are systems where TDW is the lead faction but below 50%, boost to 55%:
Quite a few, mostly fairly safe. Boost as able. The “priority” are below.
86 Mu Herculis 32.3%
LP 229-17 38.2%
WISE 1639-6847 38.5%
Phra Lak 39.6%

Colonization Info
The Colonization process itself has three methods of "controlling" where factions show up:
1: A CMDR bought the colonization claim from a TDW owned station. TDW will be in #1 position when the first station is built.
2: A CMDR who is a member of a Squadron that is aligned to TDW bought a colonization claim from another faction, even if TDW is nowhere nearby. TDW will be in #3 position when the first station is built.
3: A CMDR not aligned with TDW in any way, buys their claim from a system where TDW is present AND random chance brings TDW along to the new system. In this instance, TDW will be in the #2 position when the first station is built.

As Faction Planners this is largely out of our control, Commanders see a system they like and take whatever steps they want to get it - and good on them for it!

Colonization systems status:
TDW Colonisation Status Estimates (Not updated - ran out of time. Approx 650 systems!)

690 Systems involved in Colonisation
0 Systems where TDW is the colonising faction, incomplete station
0 Systems where TDW has lost a claim and should be ejected
345 Systems where TDW arrived at #3 from Squadron allegiance, first outpost complete
39 Systems where TDW was dragged in at #2 by random chance
40 Systems where TDW is the colonising faction, first outpost complete
23 Systems moving out of the Colonisation phase with 5 factions or more

Systems likely to build in:
Build any colony construction projects active in these systems.
A system makes this list if I am reasonably sure its a TDW system by deliberate action, or is a known system from the BSL team. If you are a system architect and you DO NOT want TDW assistance do let us know.

Project Operations:
With the arrival of the colonization system, the Turning the Wheel project finds itself in a new phase of operations. Our primary goals during this phase are to put TDW into systems we find interesting that may or may not be tied to the lore that this project was built upon. Maintaining the systems that The Dark Wheel controls for BGS stability remains as a goal. Be it by the rules of colonization or a standard expansion, if TDW arrives in a new system free from other PMFs, TDW will seek to take ownership. If other PMFs occupy the system, we will be friendly, and not attempt to take control of the system, and if needed we will seek an agreement to allow TDW to stay. This “good neighbor” policy has worked very well for the project since inception and shall be the golden rule we will continue to follow. TDW being present in many systems is in opposition to what the codex entry says. As TDW grows it is our continued hope that this will trigger “something” with respect to Felicity Farseer’s quote in the codex entry.

Above all, we continue Turning the Wheel for the camaraderie that working together for a common goal brings

As always, if something pops up that “looks odd” see the General Remarks

Please remember:
  • Do NOT work for other factions in TDW systems, unless requested below
  • Do NOT hand in trade goods or cartography data to stations that we do not own
  • Do NOT hand in bounties for any faction other than TDW in our systems

Bounty Hunting:
Bounty hunting in any of our controlled systems (9 PUPPIS and/or ANYANWU Compromised Nav Beacons and/or Resource Extraction Sites in TDW controlled systems are great places to go). Bounty Vouchers are apparently the most reliable way to move INF in systems.

General Missions & Passengers:
Note: Keep an eye out for any non-natives getting too low (<5%) in systems TDW controls
  • Work missions for INF rewards the desired faction in any of the “too low” systems at the top
  • Lave - TDW Target 15%

Commodity Trading AND/OR Exploration Data:
Trade and Cartographic data into TDW owned stations in the following systems:
- Any TDW owned station in systems where our controlling influence is less than 50%

General Remarks:
Where TDW is a guest, we want to be above the natives, ideally not conflicting with other player factions, and never in conflict with the controlling faction. 15-20% INF is usually preferred.

When factions in a TDW system are in conflict, we want the native faction (N by their name in Inara) to LOSE. We can ignore conflicts between two native factions
We want non-native factions above native factions to avoid invasions. When factions are above 7% influence and own an asset, conflicts can occur. Keep a few % between non-natives to prevent this

Orders 12 May - ~15 May

Project Status:
Hello Commanders! I am yet again late in producing these orders and have only an abbreviated version here. RL continues to get in the way but at least this time I have a new CoPawlet as some excuse. She's very cute but terrible for my productivity and dire for shoes!
Inara shows us being in 791 systems. We've increased by 2/3 of our total prior to Colonisation in less than a week.
TDW is in so many systems that it is increasingly hard to determine where we need to concentrate. As an example we have a retreat in action in Zeaex right now. This system is controlled by Lost Legion, another player faction. We arrived back in February but is it worth while contesting the retreat state when we gain so many systems each week? Probably not. There is also a difficulty in determining which new colony systems are valid targets for our efforts. There are a small number of systems that were established by members of BSL that we know about and are included in our lists. We assume that any system established with TDW in first place was intended to be a TDW system. Systems where we arrived in third place but then are pushed upward into conflicts with little other activity we assume are being run by supporters who were aligned with TDW via their squadron and intend for this system to become a TDW controlled system. These systems are also included in our build lists. What do we do with the hundreds of other systems where TDW appears? For the most part, just ignore them! There are also the old systems we either control or are guests of others. How much effort is needed here to maintain our lead, or not destabilise other's systems? Do we attempt to control our runaway influence levels or avoid lower factions retreating? Again, mostly no.

With all of that in mind, and barely any time spent actually analysing our situation for this set of orders, here are the highlights to concentrate on:

Lave - TDW 10.5% - getting too low here. Build back to 15%

Greetings CMDRs! Apologies for the gap in the SO updates, IRL aggro has been truly S Class for the past week and change… Looking at the BGS data, Inara has TDW in 836 systems, the insane growth just keeps coming! These numbers just keep coming and I am loving it! TDW space has two control conflicts and a rather lengthy further list of conflicts, not surprising considering TDW’s total system count, about half of them look to be handled, the rest should be low effort. Also looking like easy times are the places where TDW is a bit low on the inf ladder, I like to “solve” these with bounty vouchers as most systems respond well to the time-effort in getting those. Don’t forget to run EDMC or other EDDN updating tools while playing, fresh data on inara makes it easier/better for everyone. Have fun out there CMDRs!

Greetings CMDRs! Inara shows that TDW is now in 882 systems, tapering down in growth rate but still ticking upwards! Makes me wonder if we will see TDW break that 1000 mark… we shall see :) Inara still has TDW at #9 but a stone's throw from #8. Looking across the quite vast reach of TDW space I can see a number of conflicts, housekeeping, and colonization efforts, all of which I gave the crystal ball a good shake for you all below. Have fun out there CMDRs!

Items of note:
Lave - ~12% OK for now. Fix at 10%
Gullion Elections - EFRC System, TDW is to LOSE this one

Lots of systems where TDW is too high, or we are the control faction but too low. I’ve ignored these unless the next faction is ~10% or less from challenging us.

Systems likely to build in:
Build any colony construction projects active in these systems.
A system makes this list if I am reasonably sure its a TDW system by deliberate action, or is a known system from the BSL team. If you are a system architect and you DO NOT want TDW assistance do let us know.

Sorry for the absences but IRL aggro continues to hear its head… Inara has TDW in 966 systems, a truly astonishing number when you consider where the project started and how we got here!
