When I posted the above observation this past Sunday (Aug 08), I had already seen that the TDW vs Earth Defense Fleet conflict in the LHS 1857 system was already at 1 - 1 (a draw). That's one of the reasons that I posted - I was a bit surprised that it had already been active for two days.
It is now Tuesday and we have had two ticks reported as having occurred, yet the state remains 1 - 1, when the sum of numbers should now be 4. It seems like the ticks are not applying progress to this system. I've been using Inara to peek at system/faction states due to its relative ease but, thinking maybe there was something amiss there, I tried EliteBGS.app too. It shows the same 1 - 1 state today...

Am I missing something? When the BGS moves are finally applied to this system, do we know what we can expect in terms of how work that has been exerted will be applied to system/faction states?
Just before Sunday, it appears that there was no tick for two consecutive days - Thursday's tick was followed by one on Sunday, after none on Friday or Saturday (Aug 06 & 07). This is corroborated by the EliteBGS.app Tick site:

Strange times...
Thank you - it's been uncertain for a while as to whether those mission types have an effect in war, and now we know they don't. (Well, not on outcome, they'll still have their normal state effects)I did a mess of War-time salvage and strategic-data courier jobs- all described as assisting the war effort.

"Non-combat" actions not counting in wartime is known, but exactly which missions count as "combat missions" was less clear.
...perhaps answered it. This is a subtle effect that's useful to know. Usually we'd like to maximize the INF-gain from the effort during such a conflict. This is pretty interesting stuff. I'm sure that I'll not be able to remember all of these subtleties and details but it's still fun to learn! An additional "quirk" of those non-combat war missions is that they appear to have an effect on how much the INF split at the end of the conflict. There were quite a few times earlier in the project where we had stacked the deck with those missions in addition to a moderate CZ effort to keep the count the correct way, and were able to take the winning faction well over the 5% positive jump. This was done with and without state effects (they cause a bit of variability in the end result depending on which one was active), though the testing was far from the level of precision that some of the major BGS groups do, we did determine that though those missions don't factor into the "count" they still have an impact when it's all over.
My understanding is that the combat mission will help the war in the system it is handed in - and may cause other BGS effects in the system it takes place in.Do we know if the missions to assassinate deserters offered during states of war have an effect / what effect they have? The missions are often described as 'selected military targets to help shorten the war.' They are combat missions, in a sense, however they take place outside the system where effect is desired.
Exploration actions have no effect on war results.Edit: Due to the 'fresh' situation in Wolf 433 I'd like to ask, if in a state of war, does selling carto-data not have an effect?
