This is actually quite an interesting point. Presumably every test that's been done was done with the game music turned off. Has anybody actually tried turning it on and up to see if the UA triggers a different music file?
Nah dont think they would go down that route. music is a separate thing has no bearing on the gameplay.

It is a bit odd. I thought maybe someone meant "origin" but couldn't remember the right word. But if that was true I would have thought it's coordinates would have been something like (0, 0, 25900) instead of (25.21875, -20.90625, 25899.96875). I guess they might have moved it (or Sol) at some point.

Source 2 (abbreviated S2), also known as S0–2, is a star that is located close to the radio source Sagittarius A*, orbiting it with an orbital period of 15.56 ± 0.35 years and a pericenter distance of 17 light hours (18 Tm or 120 AU) — about four times the distance of Neptune from the Sun. As of 2002, its mass was initially estimated by the European Southern Observatory (ESO) to be approximately 15 M_\odot (Fifteen times our Sun's mass).[3]

The only reason it would be scattered is because some people are stubborn. Moving to a better medium would be better for everyone. It has no effect on playing the game for fun, you're doing the same thing just made easier, less time consuming, and less confusing.

Hiya Murp,

I'm not being stubborn, I promise, but I just genuinely can't follow threads on reddit. An irc server sounds like a fine idea, but that would be even harder to follow and keep up with than this thread, as a regular irc user myself. I like the potential for auto response to 'have you shone your lights at it' with a link to the video of the test though.

This is clearly not perfect, and there are clearly better tools out there, but having the info in one place, like the wiki, is the best for the people who can understand reddit and the rest of us alike, *cough* specially if people bother to update it. *cough*

There is no need for inter group wars or even bickering though, we should all do what we prefer and try to keep all the results of whatever testing that might be in one place. IMHO.

To this I'd like to add the old southern adage: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Maybe we need a UA Twitter account. And a Facebook page too. ;-)

Nooooooooooooooo... I m too antisocial for social media !!! don't have an account on either of them !

But it would be sooo much more efficient! And hit a different UA target audience! 130 characters or less only, easier to read too! </sarcasm>

Well, some people seem to be most of us, using your own words. There only seems to be one person pushing constantly to change the way we do business to maximize efficiency, and destroy this thread. What is next, 8 hour shifts and time reporting in 30 minute increments on progress made?

Maybe you have never had a day job, but generally you can't play games from them or login to IRC or voice servers. This thread is a way for people who aren't searching for UAs as a job to check in when and as they can, and contribute when and as they can. Many people are not in-game 24/7. By all means, for those of you wishing to maximize efficiency, go for it. Enjoy.

Edit: And it is entirely your opinion that it would be easier, less time consuming and less confusing. I do not concur.

Once again, "maximizing efficiency" does not mean making this into a dayjob, and you're being very narrow minded to think it is. I refer to doing exactly what we're doing now except made easier.

As for it being my opinion, that does not mean I am wrong, and that does not make you right. You can have the opinion that consoles run faster than a well built PC, but that doesn't change the fact that they don't. The same goes for this type of forum. It is clunky and outdated and people need to get their minds out of the past and move on to greener pastures. Saying that something like reddit isn't less time consuming and confusing seems to merely be a side effect of your refusal to accept change.

And you repeatedly posting the same arguments over and over and over again, despite many folk here saying we don't want to go that route, and ignoring their reasoning, and the fact that these are the official forums with all that comes with (moderators, dev posts, official and quasi-official hints) does not mean you are right either. Welcome to my ignore list. Does Reddit have an ignore list? If it did, would anyone care?

Ok so new thought dont think it has been tried, tis not on the wiki.
So this just involves letting the UA die and being shot by the beam that peeps say comes out of the top/head/ball.
an expensive one to try i know but it has to be something simple like that as we have been told we are "overthinking it"

It doesn't matter though. The tribe has spoken and the majority has stated that this is the method they prefer. Arguing over forum efficiency on a thread meant to discuss other things (the UA in this case) is considered disruptive and more than likely will get you rep... reported that is. Continuing on this course is much like farting in an elevator because you're mad that everyone is going down when you insist that everyone should be going up instead.. You do that long enough and guess who's getting pushed out the door the next time it opens?

Also I apologize to the forum readers if I post out of tune sometime it's meant to entertain and get a laugh and break up the tension that naturally builds with frustration over the events.

Come on guys let's get it together and move forward no need to get huffy about it. I said it before we're all in it together :)

IDK if anyone notice this, but in the wings trailer all the wingmans are Star Treck Characters, and they are going to Leonard Nimov Station... so anyone has droped the UA inside the station?... Maybe its too obvious, but for me the Star Trek Reference its clear.... Give the damn UA to Spock!!! XD

Edit: Oh and the name of the Pilot transporting the UA is ISHMAEL...
