I also the CMDR is likely to be pi**ed at being held up, aslo it could result in you getting a hefty fine from the CMDR upon boarding, or your ship will be ejected off my ship. In addition it pottentially becomes a way of blocking a ship from moving by multiple players from stopping the ship from ever leaving; Unless the FC owner had a system to override such attempts.
 
So when you are up high, ie jumping high and in forward direction, you can see the detailed textures on the external metal pathways loading in at the middle distance. When you are on the ground and looking into the distance at the receding metal pathways the texture reduction seems more seamless:

In the highlighted area you can see the difference between detailed grid texture and no texture and as you move forward you can see the detailed texture loading in and it is very distracting ie obvious

if you have a good gpu disable checkerboard rendering in options this will remove this effect.

To anyone having issues dismebarking: apologies for this. The team are aware and investigating. It's worth checking back after a few minutes as it seems to resolve itself for some.

Edit: also please try relogging and reloading the game.

Sorry about the crew being reset, Commander. This was unfortunately unavoidable with the update and ought to have been mentioned ahead of time.
Being reset is understandable, but them having a set pool of faces, no longer truly unique, and having the same uniform is hugely disappointing. 4 of my 7 crew members have exactly the same face, and I'm able to roll more with the same face to make them entirely monotone.

What's the point of RNG if you're only going to use it to gate progression, not to make the game aesthetically interesting and unique?

My role is general scum & pirate and a "thoroughly bad egg" (go away @LeoBartlet , this isn't trying!) and I dare not let anyone on my FC now! 😭

Everything is pristine, clean seats, no litter, no graffitti and the only options are pretty... I'm dying of shame here, Bruce!


Suggestion to your talented artists... Worn out FC assets, lotsa dirt, garbage and a general run-down 'feeling' please!
 
Apex can redirect in flight. If the destination carrier suddenly has a jump programmed, automatically divert the apex to the nearest station (or back to the starting point if none.)

If the carrier owner cancels the jump after howls from inbound Apex-using commanders, those commanders could then manually redirect to the carrier once more.

Solved.

The problem would be is if you're in deep space with 2 carriers and you try to apex between them, and they both program jumps while you're in transit. In which case you never allow Apex when there isn't a fixed port within 100 ly of either source or destination.
In the second scenario I think the worry is that the Apex ship will get stranded with someone on it, not folks aboard the actual FC lol.
 
Glad to hear about the FPS increase. Can you explain what you mean about the textures? I'd like to be sure of what I'm seeing before relaying it to QA.
I didn't have time to test it on settlements but FPS inside carriers is amazing, around 50 FPS (from the 20~30 I had on stations). Keep doing that black magic please

There seems to be a pool of about ~15 faces and no more. After all the unique faces and outfits we've had hitherto this is genuinely very depressing. Everyone will have identical crew.

tried that. as well as launching and re-docking. quitting to main... quitting to desktop. closing the launcher. also tried waiting for a bit..
