Update 11 Patch Notes

Well, this is certainly looking good so far.

A few things I've noticed in the first few minutes though:
  • some textures flickering / Z-fighting in the hangar
  • still unable to reapply the default Drake-class carrier layout if another layout is selected (was hoping the change to the outfitting might fix this, but guess not)
  • Once my commander sat in her office chair, she fidgeted like hell and shifted her butt around every couple of seconds. She looked like someone put itching powder in certain delicate areas of her flight suit; the animation loop was either far too fast or far too short. Oddly enough this doesn't seem to happen every time I sit down; needs more experimentation to see what triggered it.
  • On-foot first person point of view is still far too close to the ground. Walk up to the bridge crew and you'll basically think your character is a dwarf.
Excited to see it all though.

Is there a specific setting for this? ie: can I have everything at Ultra but then switch on Checkerboard processing specifically or will it only be enabled if I select the overall “High” preset or below?

I would imagine it's one of the terrain quality settings, but there are no changes to the GraphicsConfiguration.xml that would hint at which one specifically. So, I'll need to test them.

That's something I observered in many games, but jea, going as near as you can to another person and you are always smaller than them :)

Is there any way to attend on preproduction tests?
I don't want to blame Frontier's QA... really, but maybe it would be a possible option to have player based QA program ;) Because the details are ealy counting, you know? ;)
 
So far so good, seems to be a lot less stuttering when flying close to the ground on a planet with flora than previous versions.
 
I hope that this obscene amount of time to make an FC jump is to avoid server overload. Otherwise will be another foot shot from FDev.
 
Would be nice if you could access the Carrier Management screens either from the terminal on the ready room desk or the terminal on the captain's chair on the bridge. Not exactly gamebreaking, I know, it just feels like something you ought to be able to do.
Also, anyone else think the interior lighting is kind of dark? I keep expecting to be jumped by a xenomorph.
