Update on Communication

There are something like 15 billion teabag loving citizens on my side.

Just thought that might be worth considering in your very dodgy deposition....! ;)
Only??

Not dodgy at all! Please don't be alarmed, it's fully encrypted and one key has been deposited with another GGG (The Galactic Greedy Guzzlers), and a secondary key with another GGG which shall remain unnamed! But your secret is fully safe with me, at least for as long as I draw breath!

Now please consider that it might be unwise to turn me into a martyr! Our galaxy is facing doom, and could very well need a lot of stuphz in the upcoming struggle. You wouldn't want your secret blown, your warehouses raided, and future generations calling me Salvation, now would you?

It still has its issues, but that's a bit of an exaggeration. Odyssey is in a FAR better state than it was at release.
All they have to do is get it good enough to run on the Xbox One hardware and PS4, tbh I would target OneX and Pro at least as going for original versions would really be limiting their options :)

I run it on a Ryzen 7 laptop and Odyssey is playable, sometimes the odd stutter but it's playable enough that I can do my own thing. I think the issue is expectations if everyone wants 60fps at ALL times on a Xbox one or PS4 original machine then it's gonna take a loooooong time (probably longer than even the creators of the machine would support it ;) )

You mentioned Salvation. Have you considered thinking laterally?

(Not meant as sarcastically as it probably sounds to people unaware of the joke!)

I always think laterally, except when I'm thinking circularly, dastardly, deviously, dirty, dodgily, etc.!
Your s**t, its got levels, man!

Again, slight differences of situation. PC players are PAYING CUSTOMERS OF ODYSSEY. Console players, as of yet, are not.

(And if you want to talk about whining.... Jebus.)
Ok then, and HRZN players paying arx with love and air 😉

just that pc players paying for an dlc makes them not to an Special customer, simple thing to treath every customer in the same way. Most of company’s known this as customer relation 🙃

Buy a few EA games and then you might want to revisit that statement. And yes, people buying an expansion or DLC doesn't make them "special", but they will receive updates and further tender, loving care for that part of the product. That's not exactly mistreatment of the players who don't own that content. If you feel you're missing out on the amazing experience, buy the DLC.

Console players represent a target audience wherein they are what fdev want the game to run on and they have to make odyssey to s point that it can run on the target machines.

Pc players however represent the vocal majority as we are still waiting for it to be fixed and run well on everyone's PCs. To FDEV we have already paid our dues so this is just streamlining.

Apart from recent stock hits console players represent the biggest wins in fdevs eyes as they are all "potential paying customers" which is solid revenue and something that will shore up the failing stock figures. It's why odyssey was released early to artificially prop up stock figures which didn't go to plan.

We're all fdev customers just at different stages of development, we should all be speakingwith one voice but currently we all seem to me just shouting the odds which helps nobody at all 😉

In case it hasn't already been posted - couldn't be bothered to read all posts to find out:-

Reminds me of ...
"What we got here is ... failure, to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which, is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it! Now, I don't like it any more than you men."

Edit: Actually on careful analysis of the situation, I'd really need access to the Gal Corp hyperspace technology too! I'm sick and tired of the long SC times, and I'd really need to visit a certain place at least once in my life.

If that place is Hutton Orbital, then just do it now. I stumbled into it in my first week of playing the game recently and it was no big deal. Keep the forum open while you are doing the 1 hour commute, make a cup of tea, maybe have a biscuit. Then you can tick this 'milestone' of your list of a thousand things to do before i die or whatever it is that you feel is holding you back ;)

[to the forum in general]:

I think (so therefore i am (doing this)) we should give Fdev some time to sort out whatever it is they are sorting out behind the scenes. Obviously something is 'up' vs previously, the issues around the release of Odyssey and this new more or less radio-silence is related. So give them a break, some breathing room and...i don't know, maybe play the game a bit while they work out how to get back to communicating more often etc.

If you can't play Odyssey currently (like it broke for you), and you really need your ED fix, you could play Horizon instead - it really works very well imho.

This wasnt meant to be, that we are mistreated, but sometimes, it feels like peoples forget, that the consoleplayers are paying customer too.

Except they are certainly not paying customers for the Odyssey expansion, are they? So where is your issue? You have not bought the expansion, do not have any issues with the expansion, so have no case, yes?

Anyway, I get 60 FPS in ground conflict zones in 4K resolution, so everyone else must be getting the same, surely? So everyone should stop compaining and enjoy all of that 4K goodness, shouldn't they?

(Isn't this how the usual debate goes, because I have XXX then everyone else does?)

Anyway, steam has just proven to me that Elite Dangerous is dead, so we have nothing to discusss, so may as well end the debate now:

(amazing how steam proves whatever one wishes to 'prove', isn't it?)
