Charging to fix things you haven't even covered yet is ethical. Got it.
Want to buy some beachfront property in Arizona?
Want to buy a high availability hardware support contract?
Though you rather missed the point.

Why does this old and tired topic have to get trotted out every beta?
And this will be the first of six or seven of them as if people are still unaware and incredulous at how it is done.
Do people just like to post and see their name on here?
accusations of money-grubbing, people who already paid for Horizons incensed at the mere idea of paying for it twice, claims of clear financial desperation and end-times, beta-testing being a service not a reward, on and on it would go...
Sucks to be FDev, but at least it's good to be usNo-matter what Frontier does, they can't win
FDev has never contacted me to get my report on the problems in the beta.
They have never threatened to remove my access if I didn't report.
They charged me (tacked on to the LEP, actually) to give me the privilege of playing with new stuff before people who didn't pay.
Your alternative fact is in saying things about me that you can't know. AKA lies
The purpose of a beta is to test the product. Not doing that is a choice. They are still charging to be able to do that for a product they already sold.
You can convince yourself of whatever you want. The fact is that FD are charging to fix things in a product they already sold and have no delivered.

The casual insult throwing in this thread stops now.
I have an LEP.
My wife wanted to kill me.
But I'm glad I did.
It is not a Beta TEST.
It is Beta ACCESS.
There is no testing. They have people for that, not flakey lulz seekers like us.
If you want to Beta TEST, apply to join their QA team.
Not to mention the beta is not a preview but it requires some kind of contribution. If you are not willing to invest 5 bucks, then you wont be willing provide the required feedback, bug reports, or suggestions that make the beta successful.
They do this generally because they dont want people who wont assist them to use assets just to jump into Beta and continue Player killing or providing spoilers with the intent of ruining it for everyone not in the beta.
If you are not willing to help test and invest time or money into make your game better, then dont bother with the beta. That 5 bucks gives you a voice in the changes that are being put forth. By the tone of your OP it clearly identifies you as someone who will not or cannot contribute anything of use during the beta process.
Ok so I bought everything, the Horizons season Pass, the Commander Deluxe Edition... That includes everything.
But it don`t include the beta, that`s what I`m going to get anyway?
So I have to pay extra for a Beta of what i`m going to get anyway and already paid for?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA[haha]
Great joke. [up] Excellent humour.
So how do I get this Beta without having to pay extra for it? Seriously now.
Should probably call it Preview Access, instead.
The fact that testing had to be "bought" is the funny part. People buy snake oil voluntarily.
