We ALL should protest against FDev while stop playing Elite dangerous!!!

I have enough of this nerf meta from FDev.. really, I'm just tired about this. AND I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks so.

SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE, NOW!!!

Yes, I agree, you need to stop yelling, that's what needs to change.

The only answer to all "unplanned" things can't be to just put out the nerf hammer.
We need real solutions!

Listen, ALL ways where you can climb the grind-ladder faster, FDev nerf it.

I just ranked up four ranks in the Empire in three days time, roughly 9 hours played. I also skipped right over Ranger rank in Exploration. So, no.

-You can make faster money? nerf it.

Made 95+ MILLION credits just turning in Exploration data. Have also made a cool 5 mil with my alternate commander without killing a single soul (ran a wing mission solo in a transport). So, not really. Maybe just the things you like to do to make money have been nerfed.

-You can get faster reputation? nerf it.

Again, I ranked up four ranks in the Empire in three days, and I did that by taking the "Reputation" reward for my missions, so again, no.

-You can rank up fast at your power? nerf it.

Went from Neutral to friendly in less than three days. So, again, no.

and so on. I guess you get it what I'm talking about.

Often said by people who have run out of facts and still want to impress on people that their argument has more weight than it really does.

The major issue with Elite is that your time you invest in this game is not worth it in comparison to the rewards you get.

Maybe it's not worth the time you spend for the rewards you get, but I'm pretty content. And I think that the majority of the player base would disagree that the major issue with the game is low pay. From what I see, the main issue with the game is legacy issues/bugs not getting addressed.

And so I'm not surprised that the goldrush meta popped out. I can understand these people.

The biggest problem with the goldrush is people not being able to keep their mouths shut. They are desperate to get views for their YouTube channel, so they make a video that dynamites the gold mine just for a few likes.

It makes me really happy, when I read posts/comments in forums where players made billions of credits in just few hours with the skimmer missions. That's a big middle finger to FDev and their nerf meta. I personally didn't take that chance. Unfortunately I was in Colonia.

So your real problem is they fixed something that someone else found before you could take advantage of it? OK, move past that. Find a new thing. And when you find it, for the love of God, don't post about it on YouTube!

TO ALL PEOPLE who might write/say:" Elite dangerous grind isn't that much, you can get anything fast and also have some fun".

Well..., let me say this to you all unemployed 24/7 players: ALOT of people have also a real life. When people came home from school, work or university, they want just relax and not get to their second job lol!!!! Because Elite grind feels like a second job. You CAN'T really relax.

If you aren't enjoying the game, stop playing it. Or, keep playing it, but play the parts that you enjoy. I hate fighting against multiple ships all attacking me at the same time, so I stay away from places that present that challenge. But I can assure you, that most of the time I spend playing this game is relaxing as Hell.

We, the players, didn't do anything against this nerf meta, and so FDev think they can do anything but the forget that we, the players, made them what they are now. Means without us, the players, FDev is nothing!!

They are the ones who made the awesome game and they already got our money from us, so without this game, WE (the player base for Elite Dangerous) would not exist. Let me repeat, with emphasis, they already got our money from us. Technically, they can do anything and get away with it, because it's their game. They can take their ball and go home, and all we could do is cry.

So hereby, I invite all players to stop playing Elite,at least for a while. And take a pause.

A good idea for some of us.

FDev should realize that they exceeded a line we don't accept anymore!

And if we all stop playing for a "while"... then what? They stop getting feedback, they stop getting player engagement, they stop seeing what is popular, what isn't, and the game shrivels and dies.

Look, I get your frustration. But if you really want to see what a space sim that doesn't give one about delivering on it's promise, play No Man's Sky. I bought a Playstation 4 specifically to play that smoking hot turd (well, that and MLB The Show, because X-Box doesn't give a damn about baseball fans). To me, Elite Dangerous is a gift sent down from Heaven. It's almost exactly what I've been looking for ever since I played Starflight on the Sega Genesis, and what Mass Effect, No Man's Sky and Star Citizen have promised and failed to deliver.

Is it perfect? No. I don't know if anyone would argue that. Does it have annoying hiccups every time they patch it, creating more issues? Sure, but find a game this complex that doesn't (actually, I'd challenge you to find a game this complicated period).

So yeah, I think many of us will look at your "invitation" and respectfully RSVP "No thank you."

You expect me to give up a big payoff I've been working six months for, for your personal agenda and bad attitude?

F that noise. I've been working too hard for this payoff! Nothing, not even Hell or High Water is going to stand in my way!

I think the new engineer system proves FD don't care about reducing the grind. The obsession with grind and substituting it for content is a game design idea that needs to be rethought.

Sorry I do not concur with you on this one. I'm not the only one to max on HGE's, data and other mats, some mats harder to get than others but that's no grind to me. I make a strategic changes if mats aren't dropping instead of beating dead systems to death and try to make a mini game out of that. What works, what doesn't. Granted most do not like to do it and that is understandable.
I've engied 18 ships, more than some, far less than others. I never did the grind.

I think this is silly, but don't let my opinion stop you stopping!

I've engineered 25 ships, and the old system had a decent balance between time spent hunting mats and upgrades. This new system is very heavy on the mat hunting (the traders help some, but it's still a pain). Granted, I was always a "best out of 3 rolls" guy and not a max grinder. For people like me, the new system sucks.

25 ships!!!! DAYUM Spank me Spacecat, make me be good. LOL
You have more ships, I have more mats. Dang, that was easy. HEHE

Seems like the goal of Elite Dangerous has become increasingly: time-sink, time-sink, time-sink, time-sink, time-sink, time-sink, time-sink, time-sink, time-sink, time-sink, time-sink, time-sink, time-sink and more time-sink. The goal of the game cannot continue to simply be "waste more time", "spend more credits" and "buy more ship-kits".

If this happened FDev would probably breathe a huge sigh of relief, then get on with whatever new project they would rather be working on than this ever increasingly tightly coiled, steaming pile of doody.

They didn't even nerf anything, they removed two mission types that were buggy until they find the time to fix them...

Find the time to fix them? You're having a laugh.

Every developer I know could do it in an afternoon. Some of them in half an hour on their lunch break, if you bribe them with unlimited chocolate pop tarts.

This is not a process problem, it's a leadership problem.

This much is transparently clear.

You'll get no buy in to your suggestion of boycotting the game here though. Players are too invested in their own ideals. Used to be a good way to send a message, however I feel due to behaviours surrounding the initial reactions, to arbitrarily removing certain things from the game "pending actually caring about stuff", FD would probably just appreciate to temporary reduction in server load.

It's not a process issue, it's a leadership culture problem.

Whenever a new patch comes out the game always turn to crap for a wee while. Just play something else for a few weeks.. it’s how I remain sane...ish :D

And yet they have not put out a tremendous space game.

Every patch something gets broken despite going through the pain of beta.
Fdev have introduced way too many gold rushes either purposefully or by pure incompetence.
Some folk catch them making tons of credits whilst others miss it or don't bother.

This game is just failing to deliver, which is a shame as it could/should have been a classic.
