Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Speccy is great . So is CPU-Z.

However, I tend to use HWinfo64 as it seems to cover a lot of components.

Ah, thank you, that is handy - I've been wanting to get an idea of CPU/core temps... the Task Manager info has GPU Temp only? :]

The way I was thinking, iirc, if I could enter the BIOS before the PC attempted to boot into Windows, there is an option there to restart in safe mode. I think... it's been a while.

This is something that is still a bit scary to me - despite hitting various function keys like they're the trigger in a High CZ, it still only sometimes actually loads up the BIOS screen ;p

...and so, another week and... another video - trying to "up my game" a bit, at least in terms of editing skills / presentation - hope you enjoy... and please give a like / subscribe to the channel on YT if you do :]

Ouch.

Hope you're all set now and it doesn't repeat!
I checked the BIOS/UEFI but didn't find anything that would have helped me.

I sure hope so.
I think I'll better be mindful about my video watching and take a wide berth if I come across an interesting livestream, from now on...

This is a first for me. A ringed ELW in orbit around a gas giant:

Isn't that a ringed ELM? It says it's an "outdoor world with a human-breathable atmosphere with indigenous life". I've never seen that type of description before, must have made some changes.

Tapping F8 during bootup is no longer an option for safe mode? That sucks, my computer goes down and dementia starts setting in.

(Would actually like to know if there's a way to get anticipated fuel usage for a route, rather than taking calculated risks like what I did, although another nice thing about taking those risks in a Mk III is the rebuy of a Cobra that's nothing but fuel tanks and shields is pretty bargainous)

That's interesting, because I was having a proper look at the systems I just zipped through in order to bookmark some interesting worlds to scan on the way back, and I was also thinking "I'm sure these didn't read like this at all last time I did this"

as I live in a rural area with even the closest grocery store being about 8 km away. And the nearest branch of my bank about 30 km. Might not sound much for our american friends, but here on the old continent, that's a lot, in particular if you take the gas prices over here into account.
Ah, but it's worth it, right? I grew up in the Sierra's in the 60's and 70's, we had a "party line" for our telephone, 5 other families on the same phone line. Having 5 sisters, we were not very popular. I remember have satellite internet for years, obviously you can't game with it because of the latency and then there's the snow, sometimes above the eaves of your house and of course power outages that last weeks. You really need to love it to live it.

I won't go back into the confines of a city, that's for sure.
We usually don't get these crazy amounts of snow here like you get them in the Sierras, but sometimes it can get interesting, nonetheless.
But I grew up in a low mountain range, back in the 70s and I remember having the snow walls tower over me in some winters.

I think I'm going to get me one of these guys for chasing away the squirrel's, they're killing the rhubarb!
Squirrels fighting rhubarb? That's new to me. They must be really desperate. Maybe you could convince them to let off the rhubarb by throwing some nuts at them...
I would have suspected someone else to go for your rhubarb, to be honest.
Some masked crooks. No, not Beagle, Inc. ...
What was the name of that gang of masked marauders again? Ah, yes! Raccoon Ltd.!

Actually, I don't kill critters, I give $100.00 a month to the ASPCA, it's all in jest. I've been giving for years and I do give them peanuts, unsalted with the shells, the dang Ravens try to steal them, it's quit comical watching a squirrel one quarter their size fighting them off.

I remember seeing a video years ago on uTube where some kids had put some food in a skeet shooter that was cocked, the squirrel cautiously inched it's way up to the food and they launched that poor squirrel about 50 feet in the air, it hit the ground and ran away. :)

Here's a funny one, squirrel launcher.
