Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Shot of the day, if you'll excuse the pun...

This picture cost almost two million bucks to take! (cost of bringing a Vulture from the bubble to Witch Head)

Took me ages to catch the pulse lasers firing (maybe its easier on PC, but on PS4 it took about 30 attempts!)
If you shoot a short clip 5 second or so,you can review it on the pc.(which is what i tend to do when i remember.) 98% ends up on the cutting room floor but you can select the shot that counts at your leisure.
I'm still playing about with the camera myself, the learning curve is pretty steep there, too.

Cheers. Last time I tried that, even though I was supposedly filming in external camera mode using the "share" option, it instead captured everything from a cockpit view but I will try it again next time I have to do a photoshoot for the novel. Maybe I was doing something wrong.

You can shoot "clips"? Didn't know that! Is that an in-game option or some kind of separate capture software?

It's a very handy part of the PS4 OS. If you hit the "share" button on the controller, you can either capture stills or the previous few minutes of gameplay (somehere around 10mins, IIRC). It was very handy for making the T-Scout hunting "Another one bites the dust" vid I posted a few months ago.

Just casually HGE farming, I came across this next to a HGE. It is worrying that it took 1286 years before anybody found the source ...

(y) It looks awful loneley. What was your furthest jump?
It is a desolate desolate place. Here are some pictures from my visit back in March. The longest (non-neutron boosted) jump on the way was 82.68 ly.

This is not Oevasy SG-Y d0 B 9 f, but the moon that was furthest away from Sol at the moment. I landed on the far side to take in the sights. It was dark.

The ringed planet here is Oevasy SG-Y d0 B 9 and around surrounding it its moons. I am technically outside of the galaxy.

Yes. That 82.68 ly jump is the second to last jump into Oevasy SG-Y d0, or Semotus Beacon. There are also a few >50 ly jumps on that last bit. Theoretically, there would also have been a several >50 ly jumps on the Rock Rat Run, the route I took across The Abyss, but I was able to make it with only a few L1 boosts by letting the route plotter take me from waypoint to waypoint - although these routes turned out to be a bit convoluted, and once or twice I decided to trade in a single L1 boost for a dozen jumps around that empty patch.

My Dolphin is an old ship - I took off before that size 5 compartment was opened up for all modules or Guardian boosters became available. I only carry one SRV, and get a nominal (plottable) jump range of IIRC 41-ish ly, and 43.5 ly on fumes. But I was lucky to find a system with Yttrium and Polonium needle forests on the way.

It's so far! I bet you are about ready for a hot dog...and not one of those grown-indoors ones.
