Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

It is indeed a new bug. Hunting hotspots is fruitless at the moment. Also, surface installations like Dav's Hope, Jameson's Cobra, etc have all gone. As have tourist beacons.
Gahhhhh and my plan tomorrow was to sort out my Eng Mats gathering Asp and do just that... or... wait for it... passenger missions.
they still have RESs and NPC baddies though, right? Or did they disappear too!!!

Right, what am I doing wrong...? I think I'm missing something stupidly obvious. I have the ring targeted as per the shot below, but my probes just fly through and don't scan it:

Known issue for the update - I've seen it somewhere in the update discussion, affects at least the B ring.

I haven't seen anything about them disappearing, but who knows! A lot of "points of interest" have vanished, so it might be worth checking out a RES to see if they still exist.

Oh, and reference for the ring probe issue here

The whole thread is worth a skim through, all the issues are being collected there. Warning - it is something of a threadnaught. I suspect it might develop it's own sentient life shortly, it's growing so rapidly!

Thanks for the link, there!

Yep I think waiting a day and occupying myself with a semblance of day job might be in order and then see what happens ... noticed that the mats spots in particular were in the initial update of ongoing issues.

At least my initial update seemed to go through fairly quickly this morning...

Can you land on it? This one is in the core.
How do you get the permit? Who would trek all the way out here to stick a no parking label on it? And why?
The body is 7th from primary, 2nd moon of a ringed gas giant. It is very dark.
It is technically landable but has the red ring round it on system map showing it is permit locked, why it is locked is a secret at the moment.

You don't. Marked for future content I believe. The Moon also.
Earth’s moon is an anomaly it appears to still be airless so should be landable but we cannot land on it and it doesn’t show as being permit locked. Speculation is that it is blocked because of the difficulty of procedurally generating the surface features so that they match the real thing, ie too many people know what it should look like and would complain if it didn’t match.

I know a few people that read this thread, especially @Lieutenant Dan have Thrustmaster FCS HOTAS gear... I remember reading some really helpful posts from Dan about how to grease the rails on the throttle, using Nyogel 767a.

That gel seems to be the best product for the job, from reading a number of threads about it. Try as I might, though, I can't seem to find any in the UK / Ireland! Companies in the States that do it either don't ship to Ireland, or want a substantial amount of cash to do so. Does anyone know a place I can get it, that would deliver to Ireland? Or if there is an equivalent product available here which is of the same high standard?

What about https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B01HZ2APKU/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new

Thanks Tyres, but I just wanted the gel, not to buy a new Flightpack ;) :D

I did try Amazon for the Nyogel, but I get a bewlidering array of lubricants back, none of which are Nyogel 767a. I don't know if any of them are equivalent to the same specification, and although some of them look like the might fit the bill, I'd rather not buy something random without understanding what I'm putting on my throttle.

That sounds a bit rude, doesn't it. It's not meant to, but years of watching "Carry On" films as a child tends to warp your mind :)

Sorry, completely misunderstood your post! I read "That gel seems to be the best product for the job " as being "That gel {girl} seems to be the best product for the job {playing ED}"

Having been away for ages, I return. Been playing the game for the last month or so again, I got distracted with a couple of other games and some work stuff. Anyways, Back now. Still out in Colonia. Not getting an FC. Working on getting my Combat Elite status. I do that for an hour or so, then take my Dolphin out to get some Codex Credits. It's peaceful and calm.

Glad to see they fixed the Dolphin overheating issue. A little too well one could say. I can fly at a sun and not really get over 52% heat. I'm not complaining and probably shouldn't have mentioned it.

Hope you happy crew in here are all ok.

Edited spelling errors

Currently the servers are down for maintenance, so it's time to post on the forums :)

It seems that Tritium prices are all over the map currently. I've seen a low price under 5K, and a high price over 85k.

So, wanting to fuel up my carrier for a long trip, I headed over to one of the low price systems. There I found that a ton of other like-minded CMDRs had filled the place with carriers already. I had to squeeze in between a few others. They were packed in like sardines.

Then I discovered what was really going on. It's trading -- co-op trading! Fleet carrier owners are buying tritium for 30k, in a system where it sells for 5k, and putting their carriers as close to the station as possible. Then they advertise in chat.

People who want to make a quick buck hauling can buy at the station and sell at the carrier, making 25k/ton in a couple of minutes, no jumps, no interdictions.

Then, once the carrier is full, they jump to a high-price buying system, which is purchasing tritium for 85k. In that system, they sell the tritium for 60k or so, and now the haulers can make another 25k/t buying from the carrier and selling to the station.

And the carrier owner keeps the 35k/ton difference.

Everyone makes a lot of money rather quickly. And there is a lot of chat.

I found it fascinating to watch unfold. I'm not much of an entrepreneur type, so I would never have thought of any of this. I just wanted to buy cheap fuel!

Anyway, I painted my carrier blue(ish). Hard to tell in this pic. And I put the name on the side, and changed the voice.

Some helpful chap on Reddit in this thread said that you can get Nyogel 767a in Europe at the fine emporium of Micro Tools Europe here

So I have some on order :) :)

It definitely is not easy stuff to find!
I jumped through some hoops to get some myself a couple years ago, to put on the Thrustmaster throttle I bought. I ended up hating the use of a throttle, so...it was kinda wasted money in my case.

I hope you have better luck!

Thanks Codger! I already love the throttle, I've had the T.16000 M FCS HOTAS for nearly 2 years now. It's just that although I've played with the adjustment screw a good deal, the throttle is a bit sticky in the middle, and not quite as precise as it could be. The gel seems to sort that sort of thing out, and also increases the responsiveness of the joystick from what I've read, so I'm looking forward to giving it a go :)
