I don't know how to work the black markets. They always have nothing selling.

You can't buy stuff on the black market.
They are only buying. You have to find illegal stuff to sell. Pirate it or salvage it. Otherwise it would be just trading. Gotta get dem 100% profits!

If I had a carrier I would mate.give an old man as lift in his python

But I think there is something like an official Uber service going on. Some players are hauling other all over the galaxy, maybe you'll find somebody (or where they gather).
Or you can look at eddb.io where is the closest carrier to you and stow away on it, wherever its going.
I'm in the process of creating an Uberwinder. Trillian is in transit to Deciat for some EPT's. Who knows where this will end?
