Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

After a couple of thousand hours of gameplay, I decided that it was time to map the binding(s) for the FSS and figure out how it works. I've done a lot of traveling around the galaxy, but never took the time to use anything but the system map. You do find some interesting planets once you start scanning. This one looked strangely Earthlike in VR:

I thought I saw a river or lake in the valley, but on closer inspection it was frozen ❄️🥶❄️

Gosh. Never used it? Wow. Did you use the pre-FSS method for exploring systems?

Farming Raw Materials in HIP 36601, it's fairly easy actually, still got Selenium and Technetium to do in the same system, then move on in another one.

I use my fleet Carrier as luxury taxi, I'll be making credit doing tourist missions in CEOS then buy some Tritium but I also get some while mining Low Temperature Diamonds, now, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with all this material, I don't have a new ship to enginmeer...

Zirconium is hard to come, I think I'll be looking for a viable source and farm some, I got a tip in the Bhaguti system, 1st planet Technetium, and Zirconium.

I just never got around to map a binding, and later I ran out of buttons on the X52. You can do quite well without it. After honking the system with the D-scanner, I open the System Map and look for planets. Since I've done a lot of mining, that works just fine to see if any planet has rings. Selecting the planet, I normally get all the info I need, and I have used EDDB a lot, when looking for something. If I wanted to really "discover", I just flew around systems looking for interesting stuff, and I've been to some pretty crazy locations.

I'm still messing around with the FSS, and it will take time to learn, which is just what I was looking for. Something I haven't already done a gazillion times. While learning I see pretty places. Not bad! :alien:

Btw. The new ambient light coloration is just beautiful, and really adds immersion in VR. Great job Fdev (y)

How about a 2 hour power restore mission? 💩

Missiled a load of scavs from above. Landed. More scavs arrived. Fled back to the ship. Missiled them too. How about a third wave? Yes please. Nearly resorted to synthesising missiles.

Took out the remainder with the scorpiom.

Where's the PWR building? It's that one there with all the fires in it. So how do I get in? Oh, yes, through the AGR dome naturally. Every door needed cutting and it was really disorientating once inside. Where's the atmosphere vent control? Can't find it. OK, rooftop time.

And done.

Wait. What? 75% of fire out? Where's all the other buildings then? Oh, right, all the way over there in amongst the hydroponic tunnels. Thank the maker I took my ship instead of a shuttle - really needed that night vision on the SRV or I would have missed that even with the power on. Lousy lewt too.

And all I got for a mission reward was 1 lousy biometric data.

And no opinion polls.

Hmm. I'm in the top 25 percent on Alcor and I'm pondering hopping on an FC to Colonia with a loaded T9 to participate there. Would I end up with two 6A drives? How long does the trip even take? I've never been.

Same here. Did 15k tons at Alcor and my FC is now 25% of the way to Colonia with load of TCUs. Pity you didnt say earlier or u could have hitched a ride.

Anyne can recommend a good FC autopilot script that works? This FC jumping is tedious.
