Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Well, that was a frustrating power on.

I decided to just "quickly" run the gauntlet and top up on some stuff while I waited for my carrier to jump.

Took off and got the scavs incoming warning. Landed at the site and, for the first time I've ever witnessed, three drop ships landed. Three! The scav count to eliminate was six o_O

Except, when I got into the SRV, it was more like twelve. Still, not impossible.

Took four down, another ship came in. Took down another three and another ship came down. I mean....

At this point, I was getting impatient so took the nuke them from orbit option.

Re-landed, three left. Straightforward. The deed done, I swapped into my thievery and pillage outfit and sauntered over to the PWR building and cut the panel off.

At this point, another thing happened that I'd never seen before. As the access panel fell off, I was presented with another panel to cut away. Wha...

Of course, no amount of ARC blasting could get that puppy off and overpowering it was impossible. E-breaching was no good coz the lock was off line. I even tried aiming at the power outlet inside.

Sometimes, you just have to give up, shake your head and walk away.

Today for me it was a(n unsuccessful) hunt for AX Restore missions (weren't they supposed to be in "recovery" systems?), followed by a(n equally unsuccessful) trip to a Titan, which was interrupted by Glaives - but really, the apparently inexplicable failure of my caustic sinks, leading to <25% hull...

Carrier jump & Exobiology ensued - I think I'll just stay away from "the exciting stuff" for a bit... ;p

Satisfying moment of the day:

Alt (Eddie) in his Cutter, taking on a pirate Anaconda. The pirate starts to deploy a fighter. I dip the nose, fly right under him and smack into the the fighter as it launches.

Kaboom!
That's pretty slick, I'll have to try that. I've hooked my pylon on my Mk II over a cutters nacelle and slammed into an asteroid before but I never tried ramming a fighter.

I'm in a similar boat, spending most of my time looking for work...and still working...
I agree, it's a bunch of......
