Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Did you get invitations from many? Three popped up for me when I logged in, I’m not sure how many new ones there are yet as I’m busy playing rather than reading up just now.

I quite like what they’ve done with the long range solo trade missions, a bit like the old wing missions but smaller cargo amounts. I’ve just loaded up my Cutter for a 17 jump journey from the Pleiades to Kons.....I may have sore forearms by the time I get there, I’m anticipating much mission pirate interest:eek:

Three immediately, got a fourth one shortly after.

With the update installed and working, I'm about to continue my run to Colonia (about halfway there now). Will see what the new engeniuses can do.

If I understand it correctly, they don't have any new mods to offer. They do the same thing the bubble engineers and engineeresses do, but only up to a certain grade. (2 or 3) which will be improved upon, most probably during future CGs

Later, I am to begin the trip home from Medusa's rock to Ray Gateway. I'm planning on a non-rushed sightseeing and exploration extravaganza. That may change into a rush to a system for sensor fragments.

I'm now convalescing from the trip, laid up in Ray Gateway getting my eardrums replaced due to repetitive friendship drive disorder.

Once that's done there's a couple of HIPs to visit for sensor fragments for the prof. so he will update my drives.

After a few systems now have my CMDRs name plastered into them, I may take a meander back into the black but not straight away. I want some more credits for a large ship of some kind (undecided) so the T6 is coming back out to play.

Well, like the great A.E. told us, everything is relative.
There's nothing like "absolute sanity" and really, how sane you are is just a matter of choosing the right measuring stick. :D

"He checks his sanity with a stopwatch!"

"What do you use? A dipstick?"

Apologies for any miss quoting it has been a long time since I saw the film.

Edit: Currently I am stocking up on materials and evaluating some new builds.

You didn't even switch the bloody countdown off?

You can do that!? Didn't even think to check! Celeste was getting close to being divorced.

Sound options. It's the first thing every long-term explorer mus do if they plan to keep their sanity. :D

I must be a bit odd, I've kept it on and still enjoy it...

I could listen to Celeste all day long......but not continually counting down, not without me opening up the throttle and heading directly towards the nearest star.

I'm about to deliver 25 Xihe companions to Mr Nemo. Landed and ready to load with an eight tonne cargo rack on my Asp, expecting to only be allowed to take 5 tonnes per time to find 40 tonnes in stock. I had to stop playing so I shipped my Python over ready for a single delivery run later tonight - when I'll no doubt find the stock has gone down to five tonnes. After that, maybe I'll finally have a go at unlocking Juri Ishmaak but CZ's still worry me :)

Yesterday I acquired myself an Asp Explorer, which I named Discovery since I plan to use it for exploration. I immediately A rated the FSD and I installed the Advanced System Discovery sensor in preparation for a run into the black. These purchases did a significant hit to my bank balance, so I am going to do some cargo runs in and around Sol to continue grinding my Federation Rank and make some cash while doing so. The Asp has much more cargo space than my Viper Mk VI did, so I should be able make back credits quickly. Then I will properly outfit the Discovery for exploration and head out into the unknown.

CZs are less worrying after a while, not safer just less worrying.

I suggest finding a High CZ and just dropping in, don't pick a side just stooge around getting used to the place. When you go in for real remove anything from your optional slots that isn't a defensive item and replace with one that is, fit the most powerful weapons that you do well with. On arrival ensure you are out of range of any targets before selecting a side then dive in and help one of the green ships finish off a red, just watch your scanner to check you don't get surrounded by reds.

Would you recommend the iCourier or Chieftain for a CZ? I had thought of using my Courier so I’m not a ‘big fish’ but the Chieftain has more modules to go defensive with and the shields come back pretty quickly, plus when they are down it has a better hull to keep me going whilst looking to get away.

I probably just need to go and have a look as you say....and swallow some rebuys when the time comes[knocked out]
