People have different needs when comes to space sims, apparently. Some need to do as little flying as possible.![]()
If you've convinced yourself it is bad, why play it?
(not you, but those to whom you refer)
That's why I like this subforum. Folks posting here seem to actually like Elite.
As to what I am up to.... Last night I winged up with some friends for some hunting. We shredded a CNB, killing oodles of dastardly criminals. Lots of fun, great money. But oh my goodness, why did FD have to split the XP? I'll digress or I may convince myself it is bad. The road to combat Elite is a lonely one.
As for splitting XP - well, it makes sense, I think. We used to split bounties, too, but Fdev changed it. Killing an Elite pilot requires certain amount of skill, if you do it alone, if you do it in a group, the amount of firepower decreases the amount of danger and skill needed. Technically you don't learn as much as you'd learned in 1v1 combat, either.![]()
Up to?
I'm trippin down Memory Lane trying to find the coolest spaceship I can remember. My all time favorite is still the Eagle (can I plz have one in ED?)
As a runner up, I've always been fascinated by Chris Foss' concept for Leviathan in Alien
No wonder I'm one of those who think the Red/White color scheme of Zorgon Peterson is spot on![]()

If we're going down that road, I'll take Thunderbird 2, then The Liberator, then Babylon 5. Ok, so technically B5 is a station and would need an enormous landing pad...
T2 comes readily fitted with an SRV bay (or fighter hangar) and The Liberator has three obvious huge hard points.
All natural fits for the EDverse![]()

Hehe... and you would't need a slot for a DC as Zen or Orac would be fitted as standard. Like air con and heated front seats.
OK, mine's a Heighliner then. Beluga? Pah. I fert in yer jzernral derection.
