Greetings!I wish I had the gumption to explore such distant regions. I'd love to see them but the getting there is such a slog.
In order to make such a long trip pleasant and less overwhelming, it is best to take your time and, like any other big project, break it into smaller sections. In my case, I first headed to Colonia and rested there for a few days. Then I aimed toward the center of the galaxy and also rested and explored the area; after this I headed toward Rykers's Hope and explored a bit and finally I headed toward the galactic rim in Mare Somnia, Acheron, and the Abyss. By doing this a 60,000 LY trip does not seem overwhelming, especially if you take a ship with long jump range (by this I mean at least 60 LY laden jump range).
Imagine how it must have been for the pioneers who reached such distant places when there was no FSD booster, no long range route plotters, no jumponium, and no engineering.
